I was watching Rush Hour on FX and was surprised to hear that the n word was used quite a bit without any censorship. This was at 7 pm. Has it always been like this? In terms of context, it was just a bunch of "what's up my n*****"
I've seen it on many stations, 7 pm seems pretty early though, they usually hold off uncensored stuff till later. Especiallly FX, which doesn't air Sunny till midnight
I don't think cable has any regulations at all. Just that they make their own standards. They could show nudity if they wanted on any non-OTA TV because it is not regulated by the FCC. With that said I didn't know anyone has regulated that word. Daily show said it a bunch. I think the FCC doesn't even dish out fines for it.
I think there are regulations imposed by advertisers...but other than that I believe cable tv to be a self governed body...could be wrong but I think you are right.
There wasn't ever a band on the word on network TV just people try to stay away from it. Hove you seen All in the Family reruns on the TV before. They never bleap it when Archie Buncker said it.
Hell yea. That's what I'm talkin about. Bout it bout it. I've been telling my boys at the country club for years now, that we need more freedom of the word ****** in modern day society. If we are to grow and progress as a society we shouldn't let things like this hold us back and divide us. I'll see them again for the bridge tournament over the weekend, so I'll give them the good news then.
I have never laughed at a South Park moment like I did at this one. Maybe their single funniest gag ever.
George Jefferson and Fred G. Sanford used it on their shows without being censored. <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/xFpqGQOJteE&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/xFpqGQOJteE&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
FX has less rules then NBC, ABC, and CBS. I hear cuss words consistently on that channel. Besides they would have to delete that scene entirely from Rush Hour if he couldn't say the n*** word. "What's up... my neighbor?"
I love this episode so much. "I know it but I'm not sure I should say it..." The funniest part is where Vanna White slowly walks over and turns that letter around in dead silence.

LOL i've seen the edited version of that scene on TNT and Jakie says, "What's up....my nergro??"
i never understood why people say, "the 'n' word" instead of just saying "******". it's only derogatory if your intention is to offend blacks. just say the word.
thats funny because the word itself is derogatory to blacks. seriously, how do you use it in a non derogatory way? and I'm not talking bout the way rappers use it.
