but he is a net negative on this team. hes barely adequate on offense and horrible horrible horrible on defense. we need an upgrade at the 4 with a big defensive 4 to start or just start landry and put scola in with deke so deke can cover his massive weaknesses and crapola defense
ha nothing to do with game. i like him ok but i dont think hes enough to get rockets over the hump. not everything has to do with one game.
this guy has no bball iq donest realize players are paid diferently and that Rockets dont pay over LT or what else? jeeez, 0 stars
all bad, i know scola is a good value but good values wont help you win a ring maybe its me but i prefer a big defensive 4 to a mediocer small 4 with no d
all iam saying is rox need to keep looking to improve the 4 and a defensive big is better than a scola type. not a priority i know but somethin to think about
yeah its a good reason why quite a few nights he leads us in scoring and rebounding, defend I wont argue with but if thats your case then your targeting the wrong player. there is only two players this season who have been keeping up with thier def and thats hayes and artest
seriously this guy is nuts do you realize we pay scola $3M and landry $3M, they combine for like 20/14 a night....troy murphy makes $11M i think and he does not get you 20/14 on a nightly basis so yes scola is a steal for his pricetag
Agreed. See the Ryan Hollis thread. We are 29th in the NBA in shotblocking... Yao needs weak side assistance. Scola and Landry get torched on a regular basis and Chuch Hayes is not as quick/effective as he was last year do to weight game or better scouting reports on his game.
Scola plays 10 times the better D than Landry. Landry looks lost and loses he's man 80% of the time.. Also , Scola grabs more RBs
hes not paid to give us both defense and offense. if hes a big man with his kind of offense and some kind of decent defense he will be getting david west contract.
In some ways I agree with the OP and in others I don't. There are a lot of times where Scola does something that makes me say, "Wow, he's really a special player" like when he pulls off one of his crafty post moves leading to an easy layup. That being said, there are times when he makes me simply say "What the ****"?, like when he doesn't pass to the wide open Yao or Tmac, opting to instead get his weak layup demolished by a defender. I truly feel that Landry should start.
