why not trade for tyson chandler.? he would fit great with the rockets new style of basketball. cant u just see aaron brooks throwing lobs to him on fast breaks.
It's almost like Tyson Chandler got injured last year (after being relatively injury free) and somehow got worse in people's mind. Is he overpaid? Check Is he limited offensively? Check Would he be the automatic starter at center for the Rockets, and a good fit? Check. That said, acquiring him would be difficult. T-Mac + Lowry for Chandler + Rasual Butler + Antonio Daniels works, but seems like kind of a blah move, and doesn't really save NOH that much money (the 1 extra year of Chandler's salary as both Butler and Daniels only have 1 year left).
The thing is, the more perfect a trade sounds, the more unlikely it will happen. Look at the Amar'e talk, it sounds like an amazing trade for ALL sides. It always sounds good. It won't happen. This trade is so vanilla that I really believe it could happen. GM's, even the best of them, love to make these plain trades.
I think Tyson Chandler is probably the best we could hope for. Hes better than Pryzbilla or Ratliff or any of the other names that have been mentioned. Probably would take more than I would like to give up tho.
A solid back-up, but not the kind of starter we want. In addition, he's paid WAY TOO MUCH. Once he's a free agent though, I wouldn't mind signing him for a few million as a back-up to Yao. Right now? No way. Keep his terrible contract New Orleans, by all means. (haven't we had threads on him?)
gotta post a trade idea with a thread.. not just "how about?" You can "how about" anyone in the league if it sounds good.. depends on what you're giving up
If Yao's injury is career ending then I'm all for it, but having a $13.750 mill backup center sounds ridiculous... remember he has two years left on his contract...also this would hinder our ability to be a major player in the 2010 free-agent bonanza.
Not interested unless he's the backup center. I don't mean Yao's backup, I mean backup to whoever starts at center next year. For this role, he's WAY too expensive.
a starting lineup of Chandler, Scola, Battier, Ariza, and Brooks. talking about no offense 15 ppg for scola and ariza is pretty good, brooks maybe turn out to be a scoring stud, but most likely it will be an unconsistant 15ppg, and 10ppg for battier and chandler hopefully, woot, we are gona need 30points from bench every freaky night!!!
HTML:
Although I agree he is a great athlete, I can't stand watching him play. He is weak. He doesn't like mixing it up. What really irritates is the way he reacts after getting physically dominated. After he gets packed down and scored on or shoved around like a rag doll rebounding, he tries to act like he's pissed and a badass. He'll scowl or throw a flailing elbow, that misses the mark, at the back of the player that just abused him. Landry, Scola, Yao, Ron-Ron and other Rockets got this reaction from him regularly through out the season. He seems like that kid we all grew up with that would talk much crap but would disappear around go-time. You can't go to war with people like that in my opinion.
I know. It's not cool to quote yourself, but when the same threads keep popping up...
