I live in Chicago and work as a part time reporter for a Chinese news paper. i went to the Bulls-Magic game today and got some interesting quotes.

asked Tyson Chandler whether he would consider the Rockets this summer. He said: "I definitely won't be against it. I'll welcome the rockets. I played against Yao when I was 14. It'd be fun to play alongside him .... (Eddy's status) won't affect my decision. We are both grown-up men. We'll make our own decisions. "

asked Pike why he never found his rhythm in Houston. Pike said:"Oppotunity. it's all about oppotunities. A shooter needs time to find his groove. My ankle was injured (in Houston) so it affected my shot a little. When I felt fully recorved, the season was almost over."

too bad didn't get a chance to talk to Steve. But he wasn't having a good time last night....

Non-Rockets: Grant Hill said his leg is "all good" and "they don't want me to play" ... He also said the the Magic could have done alot better even with the injury they had. I tried to scoop more info but seemed Grant didn't want to talk much about it.

That's all i got for Rockets- related stuff. These quotes probably won't appear in any US newspaper. If you can read Chinese, here's the full recap of the game:

Chandler can put up some monster games with rebounds and blocks. That would be so awsome to have him play next to Yao!!!

I like this kid much more than Stromile Swift. Swift is going to play somewhere other than Memphis next year and I hope its not Houston, got a funny feeling about the guy and his health/durability.

My favorite guy has become Antoine Walker, he has become a lot better player because he is not jacking up 3s like he was doing in Dallas. He can rebound, has a post game and a respectable outside shot. He is a lot more vocal than SAR and would be a leader on the team.

Unfortunately, I don't think we are going to get any of the players mentioned above. CDs main priority will be to exercise fiscal prudence so I don't expect any signing above the MLE, all of the above will get more than the MLE. I see a better chance getting either Gadzuric or Pachulia or maybe Marshall.

I am all for getting Tyson Chandler if we can somehow land him here.

Tyson Chandler would absolutely be tremendous next to Yao. But really there is no way to get him.

Chandler is a RFA which means the ONLY way you can get him (and HOPE the Bulls dont match) is sign him to a HUGE offer. We only have the MLE to offer and the Bulls CLEARLY would match that.

RFAs are VERY hard to steal away from another team. In general you have to WAY overpay an RFA just to make the other team not match.

I dont see the Bulls trading Chandler either so forget it.

What happen if Tyson Chandler pulled a Tracy McGrady? (Force Bulls to trade him to Houston if not he'll walk when he become a free agent so Bulls get nothing in return)

He's no Tmac, he doesn't have that power. He can have total control if he rejects every offer and takes 6 mil qualifying offer from Bulls for one year, then becomes a FA. But that's not likely to happen, considering he's already having back problem.

Chandler's moody behavior on court has to be a concern.

Chandler would be the perfect fit, but I dont see the rockets spending that kind of money.

Tyson Chandler would be a perfect compliment, especially since he and Yao already seem to be friends.

But to get him would cost us draft picks in a sign and trade, maybe 3 first rounders, since our own picks will suck (#20-#30 range) over the next several years.

Unless we have something other than Yao or T-Mac of any trade value. And I'm coming up empty here: Juwan? Hurt. Contract goes on too long.

    Nope. Draft picks it is.

And unfortunately, with Eddy Curry's status so uncertain, Chandler becomes that much more valuable to his team. Unless the Bulls don't want to pay to keep all that young talent, because they're all gonna want to cash in.

Is Tyson Chandler = Eddie Griffin?

Do you think his mental youth stupidity will get in the way of his play?

He is producing despite being in a big market that has blamed him and curry for 4 years of sucking. i think hes handled the pressure pretty well.

I believe Paxon said he will match any offers for Chandler and Curry, which makes things a lot tougher already.

Chandler would be a great fit alongside Yao. He has no offensive game, but he is a monster rebounder and a good shotblocker. I think JVG would have a field day w/ Chandler's size and rebounding skills.

But like most of ya'll said, it will be nearly impossible to straight sign him. A sign & trade would most likely have to be worked out, most likely giving away draft picks and a couple expiring contracts.

Unfortunately I used the wrong contract to show my sarcasm. It's more like "Show me the Kenyon Martin money!!!" (Martin's contract=7yrs/91mill

I've wanted Chandler for the last couple years ... love to get Duhon in the mix too.

He can play 4 positions on the court, and a great rebounder. That is very valuable, even if he doesn't start. He gives youth and depth we need. Actually, I'd probably want a different starting 4. But, he'd be a critical piece to building a championship team, IMHO.

Whatever we'd have to do that we can, we should try to get him.
