So the guy comes in when the Bulls are down 10 or so and gets a dunk, a lay up and 1, a put back dunk, and infuses a lot of energy onto the Bulls team. He looks as if he'd be a good player some day. Active, big body, seemed motivated.

Then he steals the ball, runs down the fast break all alone and as he goes up for some monster dunk that he probably will bust out at the dunk contest, he rolls/sprains his ankle on the way up. He misses the dunk, which became a layup, and crashed to the floor.

Even with the comments he made, I feel bad for the guy.

Looks like he might not be ready to go for the dunk contest.

The severity of the sprain is not yet determined...

OK so I just saw him on the bench, he was able to get up and walk around.

Either he was acting, or it was just a tweaker...

Looks like he'll be alright to collect his paycheck. ;)

He looked good out there, i'll say that.

You didn't see him roll it?

He rolled it pretty bad but he didn't have his whole weight on in, so it might be a slight sprain.

Oh no no I saw him roll it and I really didn't mean that by saying "either he was acting" because I doubt that was it.

It was just a guess. :D

That would be karmastic if he didn't compete in the dunk contest and pays that $10,000 fine.

He's getting bad advice. He's surrounded with the wrong people. Too bad. But that's what happens over in Louisiana.

    It was a tweaker.

The comments were stupid, but I write them off as a 20-year old just trying to be a hardass. I'm 26 and still say stupid stuff like that.

Thomas looked great during that run, but he also gave up just as many (if not more) points. Sent guards to the line fouling 27-feet from the hoop, goaltended, gave up looks to Shareef. Pretty even run.

The comments did not deserve a fine imho. Should he have said it? No. But if we fined everyone everytime they spoke their mind we'd all go broke. It wasn't liked he trashed the league, stern, whatever.

The bulls did it to try and "teach" him a lesson, but I don't expect it to have much effect.

i agree. people always say they want players to be honest. when you go sign somewhere else b/c the money is right, we want them to just say "i did it for the money." but when they actually say something like that, everyone's wants to call the guy an *******.

I haven't seen him play much but he is definitely not a "big body". IMO, he looks small on the court. Any player with strength can abuse him.

He has serious hops but few basketball skills. Skiles has commented on his lack of conditioning and lack of work habits.

Tyrus Thomas will be Bust City unless he changes his attitude.

Tyrus Thomas is a talented kid. He has hops and basketball instinct... his problem is working within the system. However, he was a huge asset to LSU... have you seen them this year???

He's one of those young players that will develop into a solid off the bench guy, possible starter, in a couple of years.

The comment was not worthy of a fine, imho, they made a big deal out if by giving him the fine. If they hadn't fined him, no one would have paid any attention to it, or would have laughed it off at his honesty.

I am sure a lot of players only do stuff like that for the money, he was just honest (stupid) enough to say it out loud!

I agree with all of this. Thomas is the kind of guy who can be a great second option. He doesn't have the ability to create for himself, but he can block shots, rebound, and finish well. And he always seemed to be a good kid at LSU. This was just a twenty-year-old kid saying what many twenty-year-old kids say. I'm glad I didn't have cameras in my face when I was twenty.
