You guys might think it's all about the bowl games today, but I'm pumped to see HGTV's Dream Home show tonight at 6. At $1.5 million this 5,000 square foot crib looks sweet. It also has a 1,200 boat house. You can take the virtual tour and enter to win the house here: http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/dream_home/
I know I'm getting old and domesticated when -I rather see this than a bowl game -I rather get a gift from lowes than best buy -I worry about the property tax I would have to pay on this bad boy -I wonder if its in a good school district.
I know too many people in Tyler that I wish I'd never met, and I sure as hell don't want to move on the same half of the state as them... Even if it IS for a nice ass house like that. EDIT: On second thought, it's got elevators. I'll take it!
Sweet house but the master bedroom is detached from the house. Just a little to quirky for me. I've been reading the HGTV site and none of the past winners have actually kept the house they've won. It appears all made a profit on selling them. I'd sell that thing to and build a nice house for half the price and still be happy.
It's probably because of three things. location income tax. You would probably have to declare the value of the house as income tax so the winner would have to come up with a half a million to pay property tax- if this house was in austin or houston you would have to pay about 50K a year in property taxes.
