Lotto Texas™ - Highest In The Nation, Highest In Its History And Second Highest Single-State Jackpot In U.S. History (Austin, June 16) - Texas is definitely the place to be right now, and the Texas Lottery® Lotto Texas™ game is the one to play. If you've been out-of-pocket for a while, here's a brief re-cap of how Lotto Texas has broken all kinds of records in its 11-and-a-half-year history in just the last week. It's currently the highest jackpot offered in the United States. It's at the highest level reached since its inception. "And we're nipping at the heels of the number one spot reached by a single-state Lotto jackpot," said Reagan E. Greer, Executive Director of the Texas Lottery Commission. "Only California has had a jackpot larger than our own $145 million." Since no ticket matched all five numbers and the Bonus Ball, Saturday's Lotto Texas jackpot does roll to an estimated $145 million. There were 25 tickets that matched the first five numbers, but not the Bonus Ball, and are worth $9,959 each. In all, there were 501,120 other cash prize winners for tonight's drawing, and the prize payout totaled $3,359,725 million. Sales peaked at 36,969 per minute between 7 and 8 p.m. Sales for this drawing exceeded $27.6 million, while today's sales surpassed $19 million. i always thought bonus ball gets u extra money but u actually have to all 5 and bonus ball right to win.
Nope, just a measly 10 grand, almost. "There were 25 tickets that matched the first five numbers, but not the Bonus Ball, and are worth $9,959 each."
Could you imagine watching the drawing live on tv and getting the first five numbers right? And then NOT getting the bonus ball? I think I'd rather get no numbers right. Oh yeah, which is what happened when I had a ticket for the 100 million drawing.
I live minutes from that store at Chimney Rock and Gasmer in Westbury that has sold two jackpot winning tickets in the last 7 years. I tried to get my tickets there after work yesterday, but their parking lot was jammed and there were Channel 13 and Channel 2 News broadcast trucks in the parking lot, so I went further down the street.
It's already a record for Texas. I think the Powerball got near or over 300 million once, I may be wrong.
Damn, so it's not just matching 6 numbers? You have to match five numbers and the bonus ball has to be exactly the same? So if the winning combo is: x,y,z,a,b and the bonus ball is q and your ticket has: a,z,y,q,x and the bonus ball as b . . . then you don't win? Damn, they made this so much tougher if that is true! When did the bonus ball come into inception?
people playing in record numbers...and still no winners. unbelievable. i'm gonna go stand outside in this lightning storm and see what happens.
You prpbabaly know this, but any other store has the same chances of selling the winning ticket as the Chminey Rock store. Some people are so superstitous. Thats funny.
yep, bonus ball really screws up your chances. before the BB, your chances were something like 1 in 25 mil. now there almost that with 1 in 47 mil.
You have a better chance of getting hit by lightning than winning. Still, I am buying 5 bucks worth today.
