Twilight: Breaking Dawn - What Will Happen? [SPOILERS]

    I started reading the Twilight series (Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse) a month ago and just finished up the third book. With the final book of the series, Breaking Dawn, coming out August 2, it's time for random speculation and predictions.

    Will Bella become a vampire?
    Will she choose Edward or Jacob?
    Will Jacob, Edward, or Bella die?
    Will the Volturi come into play?
    Will the vampires and werewolves make peace?

    I keep looking at Romeo & Juliet and Wuthering Heights for clues to where this will go. If it goes the Romeo & Juliet route, Edward will kill Jacob, and then Bella and Edward will both die (this was kind of alluded to in book 2, but they didn't go through with it). I'm not sure where the Wuthering Heights angle takes things. Everybody dies bitterly unhappy?

    I think there will be a Volturi threat at some point in Breaking Dawn (probably before the wedding), and that the werewolves and vampires will team up again to fight it off. I think Jacob has to die. He really can't wind up with anyone other than Bella, and he almost seems set up to be a sacrificial character. I half expected him to die in the third book.

    I do think Bella will become a vampire, but it will be one of the last things that happens in the book. Maybe the epilogue will go Deathly Hallows on us and talk about life many years in the future (maybe Charlie's funeral).

    The Twilight series by Stephanie Meyers. They've been #1 bestsellers, and every Barnes and Noble is having a midnight release party for the final book next Friday (the first I can remember since Harry Potter).

    I read them on a recommendation from the board, and they're pretty entertaining books. They are a bit 90210, but small town Washington with vampires. Still entertaining.

    I'm just curious what anyone else who has read them thinks will happen. I figured if the Dark Knight warranted a half dozen threads, a #1 NY Times bestseller deserved at least 1 thread.

    I don't think the 4th book will have either of those novel tie ins because she's already used them.

    My feeling is Bella will become a vamp. That's what the whole series has tried to lead up to and I can't see where there would be any satisfactory ending with her ending up with Jacob, though I love him to pieces.

    I am hoping that Bella will get preggers before she turns bloodsucker and that her baby girl will be Jacob's "soul mate". That's the Happily Ever After ending I am hoping for.

    Edit: And ignore all those ignorant boys Scribo! They can't appreciate what they don't understand.

    It'll probably debut at #1 on the bestseller lists, so I imagine there will be tons of copies. It can't hurt to reserve a copy and pick it up that Saturday, but the big bookstores will probably have plenty of copies even if you didn't preorder.
