So I haven't lived in Houston for a while, and I was wondering which channels carry Rockets games locally. I noticed that Dish Network doesn't carry FSN for some reason unless you get one of the really big packages. Does FSN still carry Rockets games during the season?

That will have a strong impact on my decision.

    Thanks.

FSN has most of the Rockets games on t.v. The rest are on KNWS 51 or on national television.

When I lived in Houston, I got all the Rockets games through Time-Warner cable, whether through FSN, CH.51 (Channel 2 on Time-Warner), TNT, or ESPN. I never used a Dish service, but if your only concern is getting Rockets games, then (unless something has changed in the past year) basic TW cable should fulfill your needs.

I asked in another thread about College Station games - Uprising game me a bit of info, but didn't see my follow-up questions (and trying to avoid creating a thread solely for the 1 or 2 clueless members in College Station who don't already get the games).

Does basic Cox Cable get Rockets games in College Station?

When I lived in College Station 3 years ago it did. They may have changed.

They get carried on the regional FSN for many of the games. Then, what they did for many of the other games is pick it up on one of the local stations for the cable company that carried misc. stuff. I think it was channel 15 or something at the time.

The rest of the games would be national.

I think that accounted for 90% of the games at least. It might have changed recently though.

The extended basic cable package carries FSSW( or FSN-Houston if you will ) and all the other channels that Rockets games are carried on.

IIRC, the sat companies allow you to pay a little extra for your locals so thats a extra cost...Id recommend going with cable if you want to make sure you dont miss a game.
