I remember in 1990s the shows on ABC prime time such as Family Matters, Full House, Boy Meet Worlds, you name it. I remember there were new episodes every Friday on ABC. It was very enjoyable and fun to watch all of those shows back in 1990s but now the shows in 2000s and 2010s suck. It is not fun anymore. I don't like the current shows. They don't do prime time anymore?? I wish today's world were still like 1990s. I miss those days. :(

Believe it or not, there was a thread on this before on TGIF.

It was about ABC's Friday night line up.

Here is the wiki entry on it.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TGIF_(ABC)

Best line up had perfect strangers, full house, me belvedere, and just the ten of us. I may have been 5 or 6, but that was cant miss tv.

I don't even watch T.V. shows nowadays. Just not the same. All the shows seem corny.

My 9 year old is all of the sudden absolutely addicted to Full House, which is in syndication on Nick Jr.

Scandal, Revenge, Deception, Red Widow, -- Alot of TV is TV for women
or at least women driven shows . . . .

Not that there is anything wrong with that
but . . . it seems to weed out shows like Hard Target

It seemed the same guy was singing EVERY theme song... even the ones NOT from TGIF...[rquoter]The dream, wide broken, seemed like all was lost. What would be the future? Could you pay the cost? You wonder: will there ever be a second time around?

What ever happened to predictability, the milkman, the paperboy, and evening TV? How did I get to living here? Somebody tell me, please!

It's a rare condition, this day and age, to read any good news, on the newspaper page. Love and tradition of the grand design, some people say, is even harder to find. [/rquoter]
I tried to always stare at Suzanne Somers' boobs; she "grew" after Three's Company. ;) I enjoyed that. I also enjoyed the references back to Three's Company.
The last sentence is incorrect. Hasty generalization. This wouldn't be possible.

Haha, you're right on the money with that one! That singer must've been rollin in dough in the 90s. The go-to song jingle guy.

I remember watching TGIF at home. Full House, Family Matters, Dinosaurs, Boy Meets World, Step by Step, Hangin' with Mr Cooper, Sister Sister, and even Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

When I was really young my mom used to bake something every Friday night. Oh, the good times...

Ha same here for my 5 year old.

And it's amazing how much they spoiled Michelle in the show...no wonder the Olsen twins turned out like they did!

Only show not on TGIF but fit right with them was Home Improvement.

I think some of it is because everything is analyzed too much these days to get the maximum advertising dollars. Women buy crap...so now everything is marketed towards them.

Fun family centered TV is gone.

Not really, no. I disagree with you, youngster.

Look at the different content for a "different" generation. Lots of smut and raunchy comedy govern the new shows. Almost none of the shows in the 90s did had sexual innuendos, scantily dressed actresses, etc. I mean, don't get me wrong, seeing Sofia Vergara every week isn't bad... but it wasn't the case in the 90s. Come on, man.

I think the day where traditional sitcoms ruled, has died out. Last sitcom I got into was Everybody Hates Chris. I think it's a good thing, sitcoms are the same ol stuff. Different setting, different family/friends, same "problems". I grew tired of the sitcom formula. Now, you have to be a bit more creative.

TV shows are much better now than before. TV shows are now the "it" thing. TV never use to rival Hollywood movies but that has changed since the likes of Oz to The Sopranos to Breaking Bad. Of course, it's also littered with bad reality shows that everyone seems to love.

I don't blame them, they're cheaper and they draw. Smart business. We should boycott reality TV shows lol....except AB's The Real Preachers of Atlanta

This brings back so many memories. I remember watching every one of those shows with my parents. TV is such crap now. And don't even get me started on Saturday morning cartoons......this generation has no idea what it's missing.

I disagree somewhat. Network tv is barely watchable these days. There is no TGIF or Must See Thursday anymore. You have a few good comedies and even less dramas scattered throughout the week. But cable has really picked up the slack and is producing some powerhouse hits.

Comedy television is sorely lacking though. I mean you used to have stuff like Seinfeld, Cheers, Friends, MASH, Everybody Loves Raymond, Simpsons (classic Simpsons), King of the Hill ...nothing these days can really touch that greatness.

I have a hard time believing you were alive in the '90s, as you sound like a chi-yuld. And the timing of the shows you named, was this some kind of free period at Bellevue or something?

They should have merged the non-horrible writers for Mr. Belvedere and the physically non-hideous daughters from Just the Ten of Us, and replaced George Owens' scenes with some Sports Machine monologues or Lee Corso clips.
