I think it’s pretty clear GRRM and the show runners are trying to make it perfectly clear that the Targaryens are a mess and that’s the point. They are powerful because they have dragons. That’s pretty much it. I think it’s a great allegory to the modern day autocrats who rule and control everyone’s lives because they have nukes. It’s a big reason why we are so interested in Russia and why the drama around Putin is so fascinating and terrifying in real life.

I like it. I’m gonna continue to watch. You should not watch it if you don’t like it. Who cares. It’s better than 90% of the crap on Hulu or Netflix, and especially better than anything on the networks.

So Rhaenys not torching the greens makes sense now. Nobody wanted to be the one to start the war.

But what a stupid awful plan to send the kids with their dragons as messengers. When you have no idea who your allies are, let's send the heirs with a powerful asset into unknown territory alone. Great plan. Bravo.

this show is better in many ways, but it has
    • virtually no comic relief unlike GoT
    • no questing/travelling other than escorted travel that occurs off-screen
    • everyone is protected by walls and guards the whole time, the threats are only from scheming/backstabbing

fr how does anyone know what happened? not like pirate face told anyone what happened. little breh could have just left to some island to live with his dragon for all they know. maybe one of their ravens was flying by as it was delivering a message and saw what happened and told the maester or something.

From what I understand - the entire concept of the source material for this whole series is actually that nobody knows anything with certainty about any of these events.

will have to go back and read the book - but felt it was a great way to end the season. I mean if anything it keeps vindicating how great of a King Viserys was despite him not being the clear heir at first.

I will say the drastic leaps in time were something i needed to get used to during the season, but it also helped to move the story along faster though some casting decisions (like how does Aemond look so much older than all of them including his older brother?) threw me off initially

I'm still trying to figure out what's driving Daemon in all of this.

He seems loyal to family to an extent. Loves stirring up **** more than holding power.

I guess he's bought into the whole dragon as man thing?

    Joffrey knows.

    Legit spoilers. WARNING:

Joffrey is such a good villain, he even spoils major plot points to unfinished TV series.

He doesn't REALLY know though. He just heard an accounting of an event of which there are many accountants.
