The four people responsible for such insanely popular and hilarious YouTube videos as “Bed Intruder” and “Double Rainbow” will be expanding their empire from their web series to the world of cable TV next year.

“Auto-Tune the News” was created in 2009 by the three Gregory brothers — Evan, Andrew, and Michael — and Evan’s wife Sarah. This YouTube-based web series takes real-life news and political broadcasts, manipulates the speakers’ voices with an auto-tuner, and adds music, to create comedic mash-up type videos.

Now the Brothers Gregory are Comedy Central-bound, and say their new show will feature behind-the-scenes action as well as more of the music videos that have given them viral status online.

By far their most popular song to date, “Bed Intruder” has been viewed more than 9 million times since it was posted on July 30th. If you are somehow unaware, this video features Antoine Dodson, a Huntsville, Alabama native, addressing his sister’s would-be rapist on a local newscast. With a little help from the Gregory Brothers and their awesome auto-tuner, Dodson’s faux R&B number is one unforgettable song that is being passed around on social media sites at an amazing rate. The song is also available for audio download on iTunes. Wired Magazine reports that it sold more than 10,000 copies in its first two days of availability.

The Gregory’s split their profits with the people they auto-tune, since they are the ones who are actually composing the “lyrics.” Hopefully Antoine Dodson will be able to move himself and his sister into a new neighborhood with some of the proceeds from the sale of his song.

when you are getting 10 million hits to your youtube page and your songs are instant hits on itunes, it's a no-brainer when TV comes a knockin'

it's also cool that they give 1/2 the proceeds to the viral subjects that made them so popular... I know whenever I think of the double rainbow phenomenon the first thing that comes to my mind is not the original, but the auto-tuned version...

even when they were only doing Auto Tune the News they still could have pulled off a TV version...

I say the networks are a year late scooping them up for a show...

I look forward to it being along the lines of Tosh.0
