With cable/sat TV, there are so many channels and shows that sometimes there are good shows hidden among all the trash that few people watch. What shows are among your top shows that are a must record but little known?

Mine is Top Gear. It's a 1 hour show on the BBC channel and it features some top shelf exotic cars, lots of British humor and a few celebrities (though many I've never heard of). The cars are many times cars I never knew existed. They take them out on their track and time them against other exotics they had on their show. Cars like a Koenigsegg CCR that are given a realistic look against others. Then a celebrity takes a spin around the track in some new sedan and they too make a board of which celeb does the best. But the best part of the show are their challenges. These 3 guys are given a challenge that are absolutely hysterical. Like making an amphibian car and then they have to drive it x miles and take it around a lake coarse. These guys rag on each other's cars and ideas in such a way that it is absolutely pure gold. Or making a convertible minivan and taking through a series of comical tests. The funniest one so far was the debunk the idea that the British make bad cars. They have 1500 pounds to buy a British car and take it through a series of tests. The tests are hilarious and the show is just a mass of testosterone and humor. It is one of my top 3 shows

Any tips on other shows that are keepers in the world of too much TV?

Don't know if it's really "hidden," but if you haven't seen HBO's Flight of the Conchords, the show's a quirky riot.

    and "Cash Cab"

Both shows I love that aren't "mainstream"

I found a new show the The Food Channel the other night. It was a reality show about a place in Baltimore that makes really cool wedding cakes. I don't know why, but I couldn't turn it off.

I actually saw Flight of the Conchords perform live two nights ago at the Chicago Theatre -- great show.

    "Ace of Cakes"

My wife is a huge fan of that show. Some of those cakes they make are amazing.

The UK version of Kitchen Nightmares on BBC America w/ Chef Ramsay is wayy better than the one we have here.

Top Gear probably has to be the best show on BBC.

If you're up really early there's this show called Hip Hop Harry on Discovery Kids. It is absolutely hilarious. It's like Malibu's Most Wanted turned into a bear.

+1 for Top Gear. I just discovered it a few months ago but have been DVR-ing it faithfully since. My wife even likes it.

I Bet You on MOJO is one of the funniest shows I know of.

Three Sheets is also pretty cool, but the host isn't that great.

Agree with this. I especially like the BBC version of "Kitchen Nightmares". He does a lot less shouting and grandstanding and a lot more cooking/restaurateur discussion.

I like Three Sheets, they just repeat to often.

I really like "After Hours with Daniel" on MOJO.

"Breaking Bad" on AMC is good, but the season is over. It has the dad from "Malcom In The Middle", as a science teacher that cooks meth.
