I am going to buy a new tv by Wednesday now I am pretty sold on the new LCD's over the old school projections or the plasma's but have no clue which one to buy.

I would like as big of screen as posibble but might consider going a little smaller for a better product (nothing smaller than like 42in).

I was looking at best buy and my budget is 2,500 (500 down and pay off the rest with 0 intrest) keep in mind I am gonna buy an X-Box 360 and a TV stand so that leaves me with 1,800 for a bad ass tv or a good one plus a reciver and surround speakers.

Thank's for the help I am so out of the loop on new technology.

plasma - best viewing angles, most expensive
lcd - best detail, easiest to break
dlp - cheapest for largest, projection (meaning bad viewing angles)

Bottom line, if you have $1800, you can get a 42" plasma, a 50-60" DLP, or a 35"-45" LCD. Wait until the "BIg Game" specials come out.

Also, you don't necessarily have to buy the stand that the TV Manufacturer recommends; you only need one to accommodate your components. You can buy a $129 wooden one that fits just as well.

DLP has the best picture IMO, but they are not flat panels like the LCD's or plasmas
