From creators Steven Zaillian and Richard Price, The Night Of is an eight-part limited series that delves into the intricate story of a fictitious murder case in New York City. The series follows the police investigation and legal proceedings, all the while examining the criminal justice system and the purgatory of Rikers Island, where the accused awaits his trial.

It'd have been nice if more police and legal procedurals were like this, instead I guess upping the gore through forensics or turning every week into a Bronson film made for better ratings.

watched the first episode, good setup

hopefully it doesn't turn into a heavy handed lecture on how Americans and cops are all sadist Islamophobes. Can definitely see it going that way.

It sure doesn't come off like that. Anyway the Islamaphobes exist but not when it comes to the type of murder event that happens in this show.

Just watched it. Thought it was fine. Definitely will continue watching. First 30 minutes was pretty strange, but once I got past that I got more into it.

I don't expect it to reach True Detective Season 1 levels of quality, but should be a fun show.

Just watched the first episode and was intrigued, pretty psyched to learn Richard Price is involved. I loved Clockers

    Just finished the first episode.
    This is very intense.

I am absorbed in it. There are some soft spots but overall it has kept my attention.
