Whats everyones take on this new show? Basically this is a show dedicated to music videos and trying to bring back the essence of the old MTV back by debuting new music videos. It debuted like 2 weeks ago I think and while they're playing the music videos they have like webcam videos of people with their feedback on it. Hosted by Pete Wents from Fall Out Boy. I personally think the viwer feedback needs to get rid of and show more than 1 minute of the video.
I'm interested if it's actual videos. Also, because I'm fascinated with how people act and react- how old are you?
I'm 19. I vaguely remember back when MTV was actually good, all these reality shows just got old and played out. About the feedback though, sometimes its distracting when you're trying to listen to the video and that just annoys me.
The internet killed MTV. Music Videos can be seen instantly with a click of a button so those Music Video shows do very low ratings. Its all about the money.
I completely disagree. MTV was going downhill long before the internet was mainstream. A good Music Video channel would make my default viewing list in a heartbeat.
It still sucks because they don't show the entire video, and the feedback is annoying. Especially when the feedback is some 16 year old white girl saying Lil Wayne is the greatest rapper alive.
I want to join the angry mob but MTV does have other stations like MTV2 and MTV Jams that show non-stop videos. But I guess people's take is its not "really" MTV and it doesnt feel the same. Promo videos just arent as relevant as it used to be. Especially when the same MTV that showed nothing but videos would show the SAME videos over and over again.
