New Sci-Fi series airing on TNT from Steven Spielberg and Dreamworks Television, first episode on Sunday, June 19 at 8pm central. Looks like an alien invasion with urban warfare like Battle LA or Skyline. Reading the web comic, it kind of comes off like Walking Dead with Aliens. Looks good. I like the premise, but the CGI does not look good. You can't tell in the preview you posted but the other commercials I've seen him make the CGI look like one of those made for the Sci-Fi Channel type movies
Thanks for reminding me. I've been seeing previews for this for the past month or two. It seemed something like War of the Worlds for TV. I'll dvr it in case I miss it.
crap... I forgot to log it on GetGlue.. missed a sticker! I have it recorded on my dvr.... hopefully I will find some free time to watch it.
awesome! Then I didn't miss a sticker! And it isn't yet on my DVR! I thought it aired last night. shew!
im glad i saw this thread, i forgot to set my dvr and as soon as i saw this thread i switched to tnt just as it was saying fallen skies starts in 3..2 and i hit record haha hope its good
That was just the premiere dude lol. Little quick to make a broad statement like that isn't it? I personally really liked it. Yeah its pretty the walking dead except with aliens, but the aliens seem much more menacing and interesting in some ways.
I thought it was a decent start. It has more going good for it than bad, and for a premier on TNT or cable that's actually a good start. The actors will learn more about their characters over time. There's something to build on here if they get a better budget. Noah Wiley was decent. I think it has a chance, and I think Sci-Fi fans will enjoy it so long as they can keep the story interesting and build the characters. I would say watch it when you have nothing else to watch, and it will pleasantly fill some late night hours.
I gotta agree. Weak, and nothing original. Feels very made-for-TV, which isn't a good thing. And the little kid is annoying.
I've only watched up to the first hour. It didn't have me riveted enough to sit through another hour. I'll follow-up and finish it off but it's just okay so far. I wanted to beat that little bratty kid. Eight is old enough to know that the shiz ain't the same no more.
The second hour was much more compelling than the first, but they are really going to have to go hard on character development in a hurry if they want to keep people watching. Also, I'm sure they're gonna kick the action up a notch in terms of human vs. alien warfare. And yes, the kid was annoying as hell. Nobody gives a **** about your party.....
The new skateboard gift scene was pretty gay imo. The stupid "let's all stand around and feel normal for a few seconds while we watch the kids have normal fun" crap. I was thinking that, if it were my show, then that would be a great time for the aliens to swoop in and kill probably all of them. But, then the show would be over obviously. It felt like I was watching "Jericho" for a while there...except I enjoyed the "Jericho" characters more. Wasn't that one leader guy the same guy from "Jericho" playing the brother of the Skeet Ulrich character? For a bit there with the armory capture scene, I swear I was watching "Jericho". I kept looking for Skeet to show up. lol I ended up turning it off after the first hour as well. I'll watch the rest later. When I first saw the six-legged alien, I thought it looked silly and was awful. I guess it got a little better with the mechs (which for laser guided precision aiming similar to a Predator...it sure left a lot to be desired about what they actually hit when they fired (aiming at a guy and end up hitting a car 20 feet away))...but that first scene had me thinking those were some cheap ass special effects for a Spielberg series. To me, the aliens felt pretty damn stupid all around as to their tactical behavior...especially when you have a large group of people traveling around on roads in a large caravan with apparently not much to worry about and a huge spaceship in the background. Is this the aliens' first invasion or something...cause they couldn't hit the broad side of a barn and it didn't seem they had any coordination at all in an ambush scene no less? If it's just a bug hunt, then the humans don't have much to fear from these dim-witted aliens.
It was watchable but nothing earth shattering, will probably keep watching simply because there isn't anything else on.
Got it on the TiVo. Since Game of Thrones ended last night, I've got nothing else to watch so I'll check it out.
