the whole dynamic between the dads is weird and creepy. so, the one dad was actually married with kids and happy, and the other stole him? i don't really get that.

the only things that consistently make me laugh about this show are guillermo (sp?), the popular kid and the two weird girls (the fat one and the girl with the brace). but overall, it's just a little too hateful for me.

    Me too.
And it seems to celebrate the hate.
The overbearing rude dismissive tone of the main character
    and his main dad is irratating . . . and a distraction . . . not funny

I think they're airing the episodes out of order. The last one was a disappointment to me mainly because it seemed to go back on all the character development established prior.

Just checked Wikipedia, and that seems to be exactly what they're doing. Would be fine for a show like The Simpsons or Family Guy, but this show seems to be trying to establish a little bit of continuity. Guess it's getting Firefly'd.

Forgot to add, I bet this show would KILL on Adult Swim/Cable, where characters like Sterling Archer, Dr. Thaddeus Venture, Cartman, Xander Crews, and Master Shake thrive, but network audiences have shown less patience with the animated A-Hole types (heck, they get upset with how mean Meg is treated on Family Guy) and usually want some type of "lesson learned" by episode's end.

Might've gone after the wrong market with this one.

I don't have a probelm with being crude or offensive, I just don't find it funny.

If you want funny while still "going against mainstream and popular shows, man", try Moral Orel.

I wouldn't quite say that. M.O. was funny at first, but kinda mainstream parody, then turned mostly serious, but very non-mainstream. Both iterations were awesome.

This is a joke, right? Please tell me that isn't really a thing!

When I first read your post I saw "Black Dynamite cartoon", which will be awesome (coming to [as] in the near future, I believe). But re-reading it made me vomit.
