Tupac Shakur was shot 10 years ago from September 7. And died on the 13th. The guy was an inspiration, a mystery, a hypocrite, an enigma. So many words could describe him. He was passionate about what he believed in and he wanted so badly to drive change in the world, even though he ended up falling essentially on his own sword. Tupac was a difference-maker. And 10 years later he remains that. His influence and his spirit live on. RIP.
talking about all the theories and stuff is funny. But all of us have to believe that Shakur is gone. At least in the physical form. I just want to honor him out of respect for his legacy.
He's physically gone, but for a lot of people, he's still here, not in body atleast. I wasn't really big on Tupac, but I get him, and I get it. Of the rappers out there, dead or alive, I like and respect his work the most.
I love Tupac's work, but I never thought he was trying to change the world. He was out to make money and live life his way. Maybe if he lived longer, he could've reformed himself and force a stronger message, but it's all talk now. He definitely ruined rap as much as he revolutionized it.
there was a clear cut yin and yan to 'Pac. before he signed with Death Row he was certainly a mover and shaker. Very concerned about politics, particularly the oppression of his people. After Suge Knight signed his bail papers and Tupac as a result signed with Death Row Records, a different Tupac emerged. Largely driven by the company he was keeping at that time. But the real, caring guy dude was still there. Just a bit further under the surface. 2 things Tupac said I'd like to mention at this point. 1 - "I'm not saying I can change the world. But I guarentee, I will spark the brain that will change the world" 2 - "Thug Life isn't about shooting people up in the streets. The Hate U Gave Little Infants F#$% Everybody." Watch the DVD Tupac:Resurrection. All knowledge will be discovered there.
To commemorate the 10th anniversary of Tupac's shooting..... ...I will listen to Bob Dylan's new CD today.
The truth might never be known about how and why Tupac and Biggie met their ends. I think Suge had something to do with both of the killings, and he didn't act alone. It's amazing that the police don't seem to concerned about shedding any light on these two high profile homicides. Tupac supposedly recorded numerous tracks while he was with Death Row and they were released after his death, so I guess it's possible that he's in hiding somewhere still turning out the tracks.
Every Music has it's Dead Icon Tragic Dead Icon Rock n Roll - Elvis Reggae - Marley Hip Hop - TuPac This is not a comparison of them as far as music etc only in stature Rocket River
I always tell my friends that from 97 or 98 on we lived in the "Gilded Age" of rap. It all seemed really cool with the big rims and video chicks but all that is used to cover up that there is no substance to the song. Pac, Biggie hell even LL rapped about growing up, loving girls, and every day struggles. They were stories set to beats and rhymes. I still listen to rap but nowadays we have to listen to music like "Shorty wanna ride wit me" "Wait 'til you see my dick" "Ya, ya grill, ya, ya, ya grill" "House real big, cars real big, belly real be, everything real big." "Shoulder lean" Pac... Bigs... we barely knew ya.
I wish Tupac was back cause: THE GAME JA RULE 50 CENT they suck, and they rose to fame cause there was no Tupac.
You'll need to let me know how good that CD is as I have interest in getting it. As for Tupac, I feel he might be the greatest rapper ever but I am not much of a rap fan. However, I have been on a serious funk kick lately, listening to artists like Parliament, Bootsy Collins, Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Earth, Wind, and Fire, Gap Band, Sly and the Family Stone to name a few. Good stuff, IMO.
