Who freaking cares about Gasol playing for Lakers or flat tire Shaq acquired by the Suns. Bottom line the Rockets has deeper bench and tune players than any other team, this is team will emerged and dominate the west. My prediction, after all star game, Rockets will loose only few games and everybody on this team will find their rhythm. Brooks, Landry, Scola, Novak and especially Shane who found his shots will all be contributing for the cause. We are a playoff team! Who cares about what other say's on this forum that this team does'nt have what it takes, but this team remind me of the 94'95' team.

    Go Rockets!

Well you do need to worry a little bit because:

    Lakers
    -They have Kobe Bryant
-They have a really good, maybe even dominant, frontcourt with Gasol and Bynum
-They have a solid and playoff tested veteran running the point
-They are pretty deep considering that their bench will include Farmer, Walton, Turiaf, V-Rod, and Mihm

    Utah
-They have a deadly combination with Boozer and Williams
-Okur is an outside threat and AK47 is one hell of a defender
-And now add Kover to the mix
    -Plus, their bench isn't bad

I think Phoenix might have actually ruined their team because Marion brought so much versatility to that team and we still have to see how Shaq will fit in their offense and defense. Mavericks are still lacking a true leader to get them to a championship.

I still think the Rockets can and will hang with any team if we are healthy because we have a dominant center and a great wing player that on the majority of the nights are going to drop 50-60 points on teams. Add Landry and Scola to that mix with Bonzi revival as of late and we have a strong and talented team. I still would love to add Mike Miller and Andre Miller to the team so that our scoring droughts are less of a factor. But I still believe in our squad.

I know you're right but will we get a good chemistry prior to the playoffs??? I would love to see when T-Mac is on the bench, the Rockets run the Adelman offense but since Mac has been back, the other Rockets depend on him to bail them out. Rafer has reverted back to bricking, Aaron Brooks has made alot of poor decisions when he's on the floor, and the unforced turnovers are kiling us. I like Yao and T.Mac but the offense has to run through Yao and Yao has to do a better job in setting himself up with his teammates whether or not T.Mac is on the floor. Hopefully we'll see some progree tommorrow. Plus, I dont care about Phoenix and L.A.'s moves, we need to work on our chemistry on the offensive end and we will be very difficult to beat. Our only weakness on defense is Yao's pick and roll coverage...He needs to have a better instinct on that play and unfortunately that is something you can't coach.

Basically, ***** the rest of the Western conference !
I think the recent trades suck too..just trades to try to get attention and make others worry..they look good on paper (actually, the PHX one doesn't even look good on paper) but in reality they're not as good

Last year people said that team reminded them of 94-95 also. Lets see what happens. I am hoping for getting out of 1st round honestly and I will be happy.

One can't help noticing all the contenders and top teams have great PG.

    SAS - Parker
    Hornets - CP3
    Phoenix - Nash
    Dallas - Harris
    Utah - Deron

    Rockets - Rafer?

Kyle Korver really blends in with the Jazz. He's been key in their 10 game winning streak, and really helped to string the team back together. He scored 27 tonight, and the Jazz come home with a win against the Nugs even with Melo and AI scoring 63 combined.

This team can compete with anybody, they just need to keep building.

    I like our chances.

AB's shooting is concerning. Dude jacked up 4 jumpers and didn't come close. Starting to look like MJ

I think this season will go as far as alston goes. It's too late to change the STARTING pg.

It's funny, but alston's game is the most important factor for our success. We have to find a way to make alston play his best, even it means our stars have to change their games.

That's a scary thought. As long as either Tmac or Yao is on fire, I think that would be enough to cover up Alston's short comings. I honestly think as far as the regular season goes, we can get by with just 1 of our 2 superstars going off.

As long as Tmac makes those jump shots when Yao's turn-around-jump-shot game is off and vice versa, we should be ok. Not counting off the rest of the team, but this is what's primarily needed as far as the offense go IMO. We need that groove.

    Playoffs is a different story.

Only if we still have Jhoward, the biggest trading value we can offer.

If this team stays put, I don't see them getting out of the first round. I think we'll give anyone we play a tough series, but over a 7 game period, Rafer particularly will be exploited both on the offensive and defensive ends because every good western conference team has a all star calibur PG except for the Lakers.

This team can play with any team in the West, except maybe the new-look Lakers IF Bynum comes back with full strength, (that front line is too much for us).

While you guys keep talking about the role players, the truth is with our two stars. If you remember correctly, we'd have beaten the Jazz HAD Yao or TMac didn't choke big time during that series last year. The same thing could be said with the Mavs series, where both Yao & Tmac did have some big games, but they also played badly in a couple other games.

It's all nice to have good role players, but this team only go as far as TMac & Yao take them, and that requires both of them perform at the very high level CONSISTENTLY, not just a couple of good/great games during a 7-game series, as they have showed in the past.
