    14. Cuttino Mobley, Rockets
The lowdown: Paired with Steve Francis, Mobley helps form of the NBA's best backcourts. A terror to guard one-on-one, Mobley has all the qualities of top-level scorer, and his quickness makes him "a pain to face" defender.

Stat fact (2000-01 season): Mobley scored 30 points or more in six games and tallied 20 points or more in 39 games. He led the Rockets in scoring 25 times.

Did you know? Mobley is the cousin of Broncos linebacker John Mobley.

I think Cat is a lot better than being the 14th best SG in the league...

Don't forget, there are 2 sides of the basketball court. He could be top 5. He might be this year if he becomes a better defender.

Lets see: Mc Grady, Kobe, Iverson, Carter, Miller, Allen, Houston, Finley, Stackhouse, those are the only 2 guards I have better than Mobley. Whats good about that is, only Finley and Kobe play in our conf. That mean we have the advantage all other nights.

You might want to add Jordan to that list. Anyway, I think he should be at least # 10.

14 is about right, if you look at the guys he's ahead of. SG is a loaded position.

I agree with Doc Rbt that he is a top offensive player, but until he plays nbetter D he can not be compared to some of the other elite SGs.

Doug Christie, Jason Terry and Rip Hamilton are very debatable picks to put over Cat. I dunno who in their right mind would pick Doug Christie as the 13th best SG in the league.

Uhhh, Eddie Jones is pretty good. He might be the best defender of the bunch. Paul Pierce is up there as well.

I'd put Eddie Jones over Cuttino because he's really good at other aspects of the game as well as scoring. Pierce is definatly better than Cat as well.

I guess they put Hamilton over because he had some big 40pt games, or high 30s I'm not sure.

No way in hell Christie and Hamilton are in front of Mobley!
Mobley has all the qualities of a good SG, as it says in the description:
    1.Buckets-check
    2.The Drive-check (one of best)
3.The Fade-maybe not as well as others
    4.The Big Bucket-CHECK
    5.Rebounding-CHECK (5bpg)

Paul Pierce is not a SG, he plays SF.

And Mobley is easily better than Allan Houston, Reggie Miller and Jerry Stackhouse at this point in their respective careers.

And comparing him to Doug Christie, Rip Hamilton and Jason Terry, that's out and out lunacy.

Christie-Excellent defender Okay offensive player. Edge-Cuttino

Terry-Cuttino scores more, rebounds more, and is a better defensive player. On a better team! Hardly debatable

Hamilton-More physically gifted than Cuttino, but at this point not as good as Cuttino in any of the three main facets of the game:Offense, Defense, and Rebounding

laugh...laugh...laugh. plenty of us here have been saying for a long time that Mobley increases his game every year beyond expectations. imo, the guy has no upper limit...merely has a size disadvantage made up for in raw speed that only Iverson controls better. I roll my eyes every year to people who place limits on Mobley.

I always like to mention my complete agreement with pretty much anything puedlfor says....so allow me to tackle this poll from the top rather than his bottom approach.

    there is:
    McGrady #1
    Kobe #2

Iverson is incomparable...not even fair to compare anyone to him.

then you have Ray Allen, Finley, Sprewell showing awesome ability and Mobley chasing them down really quickly.

I will not argue with anyone who puts Jones ahead of Mobley, but I will say that I'll take Mobley in the 4th quarter over Jones for every game!

The rest is garbage now compared to Mobley.

imo, Mobley is top of the 2nd tier in the 4-6 group behind the unfair height and leaping advantage of Kobe and McGrady....that doesn't mean they can stop him though, anymore than Sprewell could with 10 seconds left last year....

damn, I am soooooo excited. This boy Cuttino is crazy-ready to play some ball this year! The only question in my mind is where will he focus improvement on this year.

except for his ranking of Spree, I agree with Heypee almost dead on.

    McGrady
    Kobe
    Iverson
    Ray
    Finley

Other than those players, Mobes is the player I would want at sg in the 4th quarter of a good game.

    Christie?

    Hamilton?

    Jones(lol)?

    Houston?

    NO THANKS!!!

    Something to note:

McGrady is really a 3 who can play the two. If Hill does play the one, then Miller will start at the two (even these rankings have him there) and McGrady will play the 3. Of course, it is somewhat of a problem that Miller could be a 3 as well....hmmm. In no particular order, I would say:

Iverson, Bryant, Allen, Finley, Spree, Stack.

I think that Sprees game has suffered a bit in NY ecause for some reason he has deferred to Houston and focused more on defense. Perhaps that is unfair in that I am placing him higher on perceived ability. I also think that if Jones can rebound from last year, he could be considered better overall, but he is nowhere near clutch. Jones doesn't even want to attempt the shot, much less be able to make it.

Stack may cause some trouble here...I do not like him much, but he is similar to Mobley in that he is a scorer. In scoring, he is much better. True, he was the only option last year, but he was also the only coverage option for the defense. Perhaps Mobley could perform the same, perhaps not...who knows. As far as shooting goes, they both have low percentages. There are times when both can be stunning, though. It is just that right now, Stack is stunning more often. He will not get better though, Mobley will. So I ammend this by saying I would not pick Stack over Mobes, I just think that at this moment he would be considered "better."

So, without McGrady, Mobes is 7 for me. If he continues his standard improvement, though, he could easily be 5 by season's end.

Cat has something that so peopledon't have in the league
HEART. Cato are u listening . The US is alot talented baller
that just don't get break or don't take advantage of them.
Look at Miles Simon he has talent to be in the league but he has yet to make it. Cat is hungry to be good ,a better than average
player. Anyway he's at least top 12 2guard he has to start using his quickness to guard larger opponent like kobe, finley, etc. both are 6-7 or more.
