The Sporting News website used to be my favorite non-Clutch sports website, but no longer. What's up with the 'Team Reports?" Until this year, they were a whole column on each team. Now, we get a lame paragraph plus lame paragraphs on all the other teams in the division. As if I cared what was happening in Denver. Then there are those annoying ads. The worst is when you go through the "Fan Poll" to vote on something and have to sit through a Chevy truck commercial while the votes are being "tabulated."
Plus Michael Murphy is the Rockets writer. Did Les offend the guy or something? He has nothing favorable to write about the Rockets at all. It's as if they flip coins and a Rockets' fan writes articles for the Jazz and vice-versa. The ads only aggravated the situation. That 5s drop down takes up your entire screen, and when you scroll down, it only pops back up... shifting the media back up again AGHAGHAGHAHG. There was nothing really to read on TSN anyway, but Murphy + ads just furthered the point. I now have a more streamlined web-routine. clutchcity.net --> hangout clutchcity.net --> rockets sports.espn.go.com/nba/index the economist slate utah.edu bio server webmail bbc csmonitor brewvies.com the nation tnr (repeat) Well, I'm off...
TSN is still better then ESPN. My dad works for McGraw Hill and they recently bought TSN, so I get all TSN magazines and books for free.
I liked listening to Sporting news radio on 610 everynight, but now they switched to ESPN radio and i dont like it. One show I listened to at night had celebrity guests talking about their movies and stuff. I want to hear sports talk and not all the other extracurricular stuff.
fadeaway, my first comic was Conan in ink. I had a working Conan collection for perhaps 11 years (knowing my mom, that stuff probably wound up in a trash heap somewhere )
You're right. TSN's site isn't so hot anymore. The team reports blow. I like the occasional audio link, but most of the articles you'll find in the magazine anyway (which I do like).
