There seems to be a growing consensus that Martin, Nene, Anthony et al are going to squeeze out Tskitishvili's chances of being a part of the Nugget's rotation anytime soon. This fact coupled with the rumor that they are going after Darius Miles, but need to clear cap room to do it makes a part of TE for Tskitishvili intriguing. I realize that he does not fit our immediate needs or solve any short-term problems, but talk about a young "diamond in the rough" With CD and the Rocks apparently thinking long-term strategy over short-term quick fixes, this seems like a golden opportunity to me. Thoughts?
Pretty sure this has been discussed before, but anyway... sure, I'd like to have the guy, but what do we have to give up for him? It doesn't make a lot of sense for them to toss a guy with that much potential when his contract is only $2.9 million. Not impossible, I suppose, but I doubt they like Miles all that much. I remember Aldridge mentioning that Denver should go after a shooter like Pike, and his salary matches up with Tskitishvili. I certainly would trade Pike for Skita, but I don't think Denver would do that, either.
If they ever move Skita, it will be for draft picks. No way they are going to settle for Pike. Sorry guys, we have three trade assets: T-Mac, Yao and TE. The first two are untouchable and Les doesn't like the third one.
Why not? You can never have too many 7-footers, I wonder if Denver would do Pike for Skiti straight up?
Skita has great potential, even he hasn't lived up to his draft position (4th?), but he is only 21. He is tearing up in the SL so maybe he'll find some solid minutes this season even in that frontcourt, after all he is more skilled than all those three. No way they'd trade him for Pike.
I think Tskitishvili might be what we need. Apparently he's available for picks to free up the 2.9 million he counts against their cap if they're planning on pursuing Trenton Hassell. They definately wouldn't want Pike when they already have Jon Barry. They're definately looking for an upgrade at that position. We can use Tskit as a back-up 2 guard to just come in and some points on the board. Plus on a JVG team, his defense will improve. If we get him, we'll definately have a very tall/long team. One thing is for sure, you can't teach height.
If Nachbar cant get into games how the hell is Skita going to be able to crack our rotation? Remember, Skita was Nachbar's BACKUP in Europe.
I don't mind sending them a portion of the TE for Tsika. He can learn a lot from JVG, JJ and AG in practice. They will toughen him up.
Remember, seniority comes first in Europe. He was drafted ahead of Nachbar, that means he's got more talent. He's a seven footer that's agile and can shoot. I'd like to have him off the bench for 2.9M. I wouldn't overpay him though.
I read that the Nuggets are offering him to the Wolves for a sign-and-trade for Hassel, but the Wolves have turned them down. Wonder if we can get into the action as a third team. We get Skita, Nuggs get Hassel and Wolves get part of the TE or someone like Pike who could be an asset hitting 3's off the bench.
id rather have boki than skita. atleast boki has a position, and has shown some signs of life. all skita has done is complain and show a bad attitude.
I like that. Denver really just needs a 2. They have 5 - Camby, 4 - Kmart/Nene, 3 - Anthony, 2 V.Lenard, 1 - Miller. However, if they really like Trenton Hassel, we could help swing the deal with the TE to Minnesota, Skita to us, and maybe we could take Kandi from Minn as a backup center. If we really want to make a crazy deal here : we take Wally for Taylor and Pike. Minnesota exits two contracts with Malcontents that don't get along with the clique, but lose an energy bench guy. They get a power forward that can score, and an extra spot shooter, allowing Garnett to roam to 3 or 5 and attack matchups. Denver gets rid of Skita and gets Hassell. They can also have AG or whatever as another 2. Houston gets rid of Taylor and Pike and gets Wally and Kandi. Now, Wally may be a b**** but he's a b**** that shoots 50% from the field and can play either 2 or 3 - just like Tmac. Not bad. I like him better than Taylor. Houston gets Skita - eh, maybe something good happens there - he's a backup 7 footer with potential - good enough behind Howard. Yao/Kandi Howard/Skita/Spoon Tmac/JJ/Boki Wally/JJ Mike James, b****!/Lue/Gaines With that set, we have the shooter to kill double teams, plenty of size, a little bit of future growth. It costs us Taylor, Pike, and the TE, maybe a future pick. We use the MLE on James, maybe someone else, too. Ahh...what a nice afternoon dreamcast.
Man crazy Deja Vu. I swear I've read every one of the posts in this thread before. I had to check the date just to make sure that they were new posts. I guess it is true that we beat a subject to death, wait a week and then beat it down even further.
i had a thread. . but it was in the dish . . just wanted info on the guy so i think this is different Rocket River
the guys' still young and still has a ton of potential (pretty sure i've hard that before...), so why not at least make an attempt? it obviously wouldn't take much to get him, and he could end up being a very serviceable player. he still isn't the physical presence this team needs, but it definitely wouldn't hurt to give him a shot.
