Just when I thought we had purged our team of the ball hogging guards along comes Allen Iverson wannabe Tryon lue. This guy has as much game and basketball sense as Moochie Norris. I guess he was the booby prize you had to take to get Tmac.

He's better and cheaper than Moochie.

If you think Lue is as bad as Norris, you have a short memory.

It's too early to give up on Lue.

Many people's been bashing Lue lately. I think it's too early for that. It seems to me, when Tmac is not on the floor, Lue is the only guard on our team who can creat their own shot. On broken plays, or low on the shot clock, Lue is the most logical person taking the shot. He hasn't made many of them yet, but it's still early. It's not really fair to judge him on those shots.

Give him some time guys. It's only been 7 games. 2 of them without Tmac, our former goto guy on broken plays.

Lue only has one year left on his contract. Worst case scenario, he stinks it up this year, then next year we let him walk and sign someone else.

How many games has Lue played with T-Mac? In any of those games, can you honestly tell me that his stats were better than they are now? Seriously, you can give him all the time in the world, he sucked back then and he sucks now.

Lue did ok for a backup in at least 3 of the games with Tmac. I watched all the games not on NBATV, which happend to be his worst games, maybe that's a reason why I'm not giving up on him yet.

I am not claiming that he is a good backup, just that we should give him more time. That is all. Keep in mind he is a backup on a team with two superstars. Maybe some of us is expecting a bit too much.

He does not turn the ball over much, when we are still figuring eachother's game out. He does not take many shots. He plays good defense. What should we expect our backup point guard to be? His shot hasn't been falling lately, we could wait at least another month before declaring him useless. Remeber his Laker years? Give him a chance.

    Did a little research:
    against detroit: 2-5 3 ast 1to 4pts
    memphis : 2-3 1 1 7
    sac : 3-6 4 1 7

Now, these are ok for a backup point guard.

Like I said, give the guy some more time. Maybe he is useless, but I'm hoping for the best.

I guess she can't shoot anymore since the NBA's basketballs are bigger than what they have in the WNBA, so it's harder to get them into the basket.

Lue did do OK "for a backup" ... If he was only a backup then that is fine. The problem is that he is more than a backup as he is playing the last 5 min of a tight game ... That is a problem.

He's not even a good backup, but he is suitable. He has no business being in at the end of a game on a team that hopes to win a championship.

I really think this year is going to be tough and we are just going to have to fight through some rough spots on this team and hope that Yao and T-Mac can pull the team farther than it really should go. I'm just hoping we can have a dynamite offseason and pick up a few pieces that can really help us win the championship.

Where did you get the idea that Lue isn't "just a backup"? You do realize that the two best guard on this team were both out of the game, right? When you only have 3 players on the team that can play the two guard positions, all of them are going to play major minutes no matter how bad they are.

Which part of Lue's game does it make him a bad backup?

defense: check. he plays good D.
turnovers: check. he is not turnover prone.
knowing his role: check. he does not try to be superman.

getting the ball to right people: other than that stupid pass to yao in the lakers game, he's been doing good. remember we are still learning to play with eachother.

Shooting: this is the only part of his game that's bad right now. But like with everyone else, you can't declare someone a bad shooter after 3 bad shooting games. especially for someone who shoots like 5 times a game.

I don't know, besides his hair, I really don't see what's bad about Lue.

he's not a bad backup. and he's a decent jump shooter when open. he seems to be able to get to the hoop but he's not a great finisher. not a bad backup.

Lue is a solid backup and a change-of-pace guard. And he is one of the few PG's we have had on this team in a long time who penetrates with the intention of kicking it out to the open man...and can actually consistently penetrate. He can also hit the midrange shot (J, floater, whatever) with that penetration.

He was on the court at the end due to needing 2 smaller, quicker guards on the court or due to TMac's injury. Not a bad decision by any means

lue is a FA at the end of the year. IF we re-sign him it will be 2-3 years, starting at $1M per year. no way is there gonna be another moochie as long as CD is our GM. he already learned his lesson the hard way.
