Trying To Use The BBS Search Feature, Get Error

NOTE: I would have Searched for the answer to this question, but uhh yeah... seach doesn't work for me.

when i hit the "search" link up in the top right of the BBS i get this message:

You do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. You do not have permission to access the page that you were trying to. Are you trying to edit someone else's post or trying to access administrative features? Check that you are allowed to perform this action in the Forum Rules.

2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

as a forum noob i'd like to be able to search before i post something, so i don't get bashed for double-posts. thanks for any help.

i see that now... the search feature would have helped that problem.
