ESPN NBA Rumor Mill 2/17/04 After reading the ESPN Rumor Mill this morning... I have solved the problems of the world (outside of world hunger and peace and woman's suffrage) by mix and matching rumors with team needs. Here it goes: Houston Trades: Stevie to Philly Cato to Dallas Philly Trades: Snow to Houston McKie to Dallas Dallas Trades: Walker (or Jamison) to Houston Philly is able to unload contracts and get an athletic running mate in Stevie to go along side AI. Dallas gets the big it needs in Cato and a solid defender and shooter in McKie. Houston gets a true point guard in Snow and an athletic passing/scoring power foward in Walker. This trade helps improve each team and provides a huge upgrade to the ROX. Any thoughts?
Am I reading this right? Philly gets Francis for two contracts it's lookng to unload, in Snow and McKie? Highway robbery. And if we ever get Walker, we'll appreciate Mobley and Francis' shot selection.
"I read a couple of rumors, so I just called him up," Van Gundy said. "There's very few times you can tell somebody he's not being traded, because it's open season. Everybody can be traded. Everybody can be fired. But our team is going to be our team -- I would think, going forward -- and certainly Steve, I can't see any possibility of him being traded right now. "I think he knows that. I was just telling him. There's going to be rumors about every good player. Any rumor can be started, so certainly there's some about Steve. I'm sure there's going to be some about other guys. All I'm saying is I would be shocked if this wasn't the team as we go forward. That's how I'm planning. "Carroll (Dawson, the Rockets' general manager) hasn't brought anything to me. I think we'll be the same team after the deadline, and that's not a bad thing." .................................................................................................... Hopefully this will end all these stupid trade threads.
Translation: Hopefully, all those speed limit signs will prevent dumbasses from drag racing on the freeway. its highly unlikely
I am not saying that this trade I proposed was going to happen. I would say that there is a 110% chance that we won't make a move. Speculation is always fun... especially when trying to improve your home team. That said... I would pull the trigger on this trade in a heart beat. Walker is tough and Snow runs a "team first point".
Francis & Cato for Snow & Jamison/Walker? NO THANKS! BTW, just say NO to Antoine Walker! Not a good fit here!
