LMAO. Talk about the most predictable hookie ever. Would've been cool to see it happen. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/trump-not-attend-naacp-convention-weekend-article-1.3339393 http://www.newsweek.com/first-trump...e-declines-invitation-naacp-convention-639388
To be fair someone highly intelligent could give a nuanced and detailed reason why and you would dismiss instantly without a single thought.
So many people are already talking about how he'll send out the best tweet that afternoon, I mean really, nobody can tweet like that. It will be the greatest tweet.
If it was accurate and based in reality, I wouldn't dismiss it. Of course there's not much of a pool to draw from in the D&D to find this "highly intelligent" person to give it a go, so I'm skeptical as to that being much of a possibility in the first place.
When I think of the first poster on the D&D who ought to be the arbiter of 'intelligence', I think of you bobby, the high school educated enlisted man.
He did promise to bring us all together. But, of course, Obama, because he was black- it was his duty to unite us - but it's OK if Trump doesn't. Funny how that works, eh?
Unfortunately its a case of nothing to gain and actually it would lose some of his base Not talking about Trump specifically but blacks should look at more Republican as just not to be taken for granted
I don't think Trump would have nothing to gain. There is a portion of black people who strongly support Trump -- a group you are apparently a member of -- and a visit to the NAACP could be engineered to highlight this support and normalized Trump's policies as they relate to relationships with the black community. And, I doubt he'd lose any of his base over it either. Given the contortions they've undertaken to rationalize what he's done so far, rationalizing a visit to the NAACP should be a piece of cake. Of course, there is a risk that his political enemies will win the PR war on this and he'd end up looking bad, which is why he won't do it. I wouldn't say he has nothing to gain though; it's just not a good bet.
.....and how would they benefit by Trump showing up to a hostile event like that? Ah, so in your mind, Trump showing up would have led to "bringing us all together"? Trump can certainly try to extend olive branches to the black community and he could potentially have some success doing so, but it sure as hell wouldn't be with the NAACP types. When you try to bring people together, you don't start with the extremists.
