Humm... what does "public order issues" mean?

Burning the flag? (for those who haven't followed, see the latest 'I, not the Constitution, dictate the law' EO)

    Criticizing the POTUS?

.. Then ... soon ... Not bending your knee to the POTUS?

@Os Trigonum help us out here

"President Donald Trump signed an executive order Monday that the administration says will task Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth with establishing “specialized units” in the National Guard that will be “specifically trained and equipped to deal with public order issues.”

This move follows a directive by Hegseth last week that authorized members of the National Guard, who were deployed as part of Trump’s anti-crime agenda in Washington, DC, to begin carrying weapons.

National Guard members deployed to DC started carrying sidearms Sunday, a spokesperson for the Joint Task Force carrying out the mission told CNN.

On Monday, Trump suggested he’d ask Congress to codify the action, telling reporters in the Oval Office, “I think Democrats will actually vote for this.”

Trump signed several other executive actions Monday targeting cashless bail, withholding federal grant funding to jurisdictions that have abolished cash bail and moving criminal defendants in DC to federal custody where applicable to ensure they’ll be held in federal prison pre-trial.

Another order he signed enacts stricter penalties on American flag-burning, subjecting those who burn the US flag to one year in prison “where there’s evidence of criminal activity.”

I don't ever want to hear another person that voted for this man to bring up "State's Rights" again, as all he has done is **** all over the rights of the states.

It is whatever the President decides "public order" means on a particular time and date.

He is trying to have any meddlesome lawsuits in the federal court that could prevent or slow him down from doing whatever he wants.

Yes, already happening. POTUS declared a 'public safety emergency' in DC despite crime being at a 30-year low, then deployed 800+ National Guard troops and took federal control of DC police. Courts will take forever to review the BS.

Meanwhile, Republicans are pushing legislation to extend POTUS power to deploy federal military against Americans from 30 days to 6 months in any American city. Bunch of authoritarians.

The US tour will continue - with the hope of the administration that protests and violence get out of hand.

It is brilliant as a distraction - why discuss the absolute massive failure in Ukraine, the tariffs and cloudy at best economic indicators, the wholesale kidnapping of Hispanic looking people by glorified security guards with hoods and increasing goods costs.... when you have armed guardsmen coming to an urban center by you!

Trump is supposedly going into Chicago next - which I fear, may well end in violence. I live in Chicago and would be against this type of naked intimidation by any President, but I don't think people realize how disliked Trump is in Chicago. He could get some cheers in Southern Illinois for sure, but at this point even the wealthy conservative parts of Chicago are rabidly anti-Trump.

I have a friend telling me that "[P]eople of Chicago are scared and want Donald Trump to come into Chicago and protect them." ....... I am sure they will find enough people in a city of millions, to go on television and social media and claim they want Trump in Chicago, but that is not remotely the case for the VAST majority of people in the city.
