Which full size trucks would you rather have? I don't think I would go for either a Ford or a Chevy! I'm in the process of buying a new truck and I have my eye on the DODGE Ram 1500 trucks. The ones with the full-size passenger cab and the standard 20 inch rims. Anyone have opinions on any of these trucks?
Avoid the Dodge. At work we had 1 diesel and 2 gasoline Dodge trucks. The diesel had problems with the Transmission. The warranty covered it, but soon we had more problems. We sold it 18 mos old. The resale on any vehicle is awful, but Dodge is the worst. Chevrolet is the best ride of any pickup. a good personal pickup. Ford is a tougher work pickup with the best resale. Ford always has problems with front end and ride problems with miles. I have had all of them and now drive a Toyota Tundra.
Ford trucks look better, drive better, and have better quality. I drive a 98 Ranger 4x4 flareside, and I love it. Fun to drive, good recreational vehicle, and chicks seem to like it too.
Just curious, but based on what? I have owned both Ford, Chevy, and GMC fullsize trucks. I have found in my personal experience that the GMC was the best of the three. It had the best ride easy, was almost maintenance free, and had the best horsepower. I still own it, and it's a great truck. I'd follow that up with my last truck, the F150. Then the Chevy. But that tired, age old Ford vs. Chevy thing with the stupid stickers of Calvin pissing on the logo yadda yadda yadda is just juvenile to me. My opinion......
Really? I better look into it more carefully then. One cousin has a GMC and another has a Ford so I was trying to be different and go for a Dodge. Guess I'll have to re-think that and look into the Chevy. BTW, is the Toyota Tundra considered a "full-size" truck? I know they come in V8s but I hadn't really looked into them yet. Thanks.....
I agree, there's nothing that says "I am white trash" more than one of those dumbass Calvin stickers. Personally, I have nothing against GM. I plan on buying a Tahoe as my next car. For trucks, it's just my opinion that GM/Chevy Silverado is too boxy, and still uses the same cheap plasticky build materials they've been using for years. Not too mention the crappy old AC Delco stereos. Yuck. When I was shopping for trucks, I looked at the S-10 also. It felt very cheap and shoddy. Ford Ranger had a nicer interior and you could feel the difference in build quality. At any rate, avoid Dodge like the plague.
Toyota Tundra i think the 03's are going to have a side step. it is going to have more TRD crap on it, like Fender Flares and things like that.
Oh, you mean one of these? <img src="http://se151.cm.utexas.edu/hurley/p_ford.gif"> This post also indicates my truck preference. (wouldn't degrade my Chevy by actually putting the sticker on it, though )
