Both very interested in joining the Rockets, play different kind of games but both very effective in what they do. When heathly Hudson put up 15 and 6 in Minny...and is much younger than Fisher but Fisher can hit the open three and defend who would you rather have to be in the backcourt with Tracy?
Fisher with out a doubt! Nice outside shot and plays good D just looks like a JVG type player. Plus he is used to feeding the ball into a big guy which Yao can use because half the time the ball isnt passed right into the post.
Hudson plays too eratic for my likeing... Fisher on the hand, Calm cool and makes the right descision under pressure!Give me The Fish
derek fisher is off the ball person..he shoot as soon as he catches...and play good D troy hudson...he is somewhat like francis...he have to dribble the ball and then shoot...he also have too many turnovers for my taste.. derek fisher is a good choice..i hope we get him....marc jackson is just too old and get outrun by everyone
didn't hudson light up fisher and his so called great defense two years ago. i would prefer barry though.
Hudson is a good player, but I need better consistency with our PG. Hudson is a little too erratic and requires the ball to be effective Fisher- Good shooter, good defender, period. He knows how to deal with other stars, including a dominant big man and SG. Always been a low TO players. Barry- Good shooter, questionable defense. He is a good passer and is taller than Fisher. Having a Barry/T-Mac backcourt would really stretch the defense out. Will be more expensive than Fisher and is also older too.
Fisher over Hudson. We need a distributer and defender, not a shoot-first PG. Ward should be looked at. Barry maybe. He's not the best at guarding true PGs, but a reasonably good playmaker and team player. Evan
hudson! half the problem tmac had in orlando was crappy tyronne lue. tmac's off-the-ball movement is nonexistant, yao isn't exactly the epitome of mobility, only JJ could probably find himself open - and that's it. combined with gundy's half court semi-offense and a pointguard unable to penetrate, even 80 points a game will be a stretch. when orlando got rid of armstrong they lost someone who had both the confidence and ability to drive in to the defense and open opportunities. we all saw what happened when fisher tried to display his dribbling/driving "skills" in the playoffs (blockparty and missed layups), and you know lue is no starter. i would much rather have troy and his ability to generate offense over that faker fisher and never-was lue.
I dont understand the fascination with Brent Barry. Is it because he's white and the NBA needs more White superstars? I dont remember Brent Barry doing anything special these past 10 years in the league.
I think people prefer Barry to Fisher because he's a better shooter and a better ball handler and a better playmaker than Fisher. Based on what Fisher did this year, I'm surprised so many people are so hot for him. I hope the Rockets make an offer to Steve Nash. I don't expect we can get him, but what the heck? My only concern would be that if we made an offer to Nash, it might cost us barry and then we'd be stuck with Fisher when Nash resigned with Dallas. I would not be disappointed if we went after Barry starting 12:01 a.m. on July 1. I would be if we did that with Fisher or Hudson. They're consolation prizes IMO.
