Tristan Thompson is represented by LeBron's agency. Lebron gets a cut of that $80M somewhere down the line...
Overpaid, yes. But did you see them in the playoffs? TT's stock went way up. Jones isn't even a blip on the radar.
So basically you are saying it would be the same for Rockets if they had T.Thompson instead of Jones?
except for a few rebounds, better defense, nice putbacks, a winning do-or-die attitude... yup, not much difference.
TT is one of the best and nearly best offensive rebounders, much improved defense and good around the basket, strong and doesn't get pushed around (yes, looking at you TJ). I would rather pay him 16mil then Asik 12mil. His still very young and already very good. IF Cavs wanted they could trade him in a instant and get loads of goods back.
They are about equal finishing near the rim. T-Jones has nifty hands but gets denied too easily while TT reminds me of Kendrick Perkins with more power and athleticism. He is very slow gathering himself and is a very poor offensive player overall. Only reason he gets this contract is elite offensive rebounding that came up big time in the playoffs and LeBron negotiating for him. IMO, a questionable move by the Cavs for a guy I believe has hit his ceiling. We'll see.
