Wow....you're a lucky dog. I've never been, but it's on my most wanted list.

I'd definitely visit some wineries, Chile is producing some outstanding wine these days. Myself, I'd probably want to do some offshore fishing, but being in those two cities, you'll probably never be lacking in things to do.

My brother used to live in Chile. I'll see what I can find out.

Okay, my brother said that they have volcanoes and waterfalls you can go to, as far as nature-esque things to see. He said the beaches are real nice in pretty much all of Chile, but if you want cleaner beaches, you want to go up to Vina Del Mar, not Santiago, so I guess you're in luck.

He also said, if you have a rental car or some good kind of transportation, that you want to go to Siete Tazas, which is about 4 hours away from Santiago, which is a great place with 8 waterfalls in a row forming 7 large lakes or ponds. He said it was beautiful.

As far as other stuff, he suggested going to a soccer game, since they have a lot of huge rivalries there and pretty much everyone is a fanatic. He also said there was a big amusement park in Santiago which is supposed to be cool, but that he had never been to it.

Oh, and he said the fishing is great, and that white-water rafting is fun and available, and you can go horseback riding. But I think he just threw those things in cause he happened to do them in Chile.

I don't know if any of that helps, but it's a start at least.

    :)
