We all know the news by now. Trevor Ariza signed a 1-year deal with Phoenix for $15mil. It's a sad ending to a wonderful second stint with our club, but I don't want to wallow in his loss, I want to appreciate him for what he meant to us. Me and my dad were talking tonight about who we could lose or get and how we would feel about it. When Ariza came up, it was hard because we both felt he deserved more money than we could give him, but that what he gives us (especially beyond the court) would be very hard to replace. I think we can replace his shooting and probably his defense to some extent, but it might be impossible to replace his character. Ariza is just one of the best dudes in the league. You don't have to know him to know that. The way he approaches his teammates, the way he handles squabs and ****-talk. He's a stand up guy and he was always down for the squad. I'll miss him and our locker room will be a little less bright without Trevor, but I'm glad his family will be well taken care of after this next contract--and who knows? Maybe he'll want to come back! Anyway, thank you Trevor. You were a constant professional and a pioneer for the era of switchy wings. Good luck (you're definitely going to need it) in Phoenix!
Good Luck in Phx bro. Wish you could of retired a Rocket. Chase that $$ while you can. Best memory was you singing in the back seat.
Thanks for being part of the historic 0-for-27 stretch in the Finals. We couldn't have done it without you bricking wide open corner threes!
Trevor is one of those glue guys that can frustrate you sometime with his limitations, but then make a crucial steal and change the entire momentum of the game. He'll definitely be missed, but I have faith that DM is working something.
i can't hate on him right now. i appreciate what he gave us. i understand why he had to go and i hope there is a plan to replace him since i'm sure the team saw it coming.
But daddy, I don’t wanna appreciate him! But I will: Thanks for the critical defense in some situations. Not your year, but I appreciate the past.
Guy was always a professional and always put everything he had on the court for better or worse. Tough, solid teammate. Go get that money Trevor.
One of my favorite Rockets. Will definitely miss him, because despite his short comings, he was a huge positive during his 2nd stint with us.
Also, sad that there will not be anymore State Farm Commercials with CP3 and Harden.... Tell Me Why Trevor!
I’m going to miss Trev. People want to pile on his game 7 performance, but it defines nothing for me. Dude was down for this team at all times. Great team guy, great in the locker room and I personally feel like he deserves our respect. Gonna suck seeing him on the other side.
