Even House of Pies' "Tres Leches Cake" is better than Arandas' take on the same cake.. So, that's like Dairy Queen having better crispy tacos than Taco Bell... It's that bad.
Arandas sucks...taqueria or bakery. I used to like the taqueria, but their shizznit has slid downhill over the past 2-3 years. Best Tres Leches cake is Teotihuacan....but I'm a German Chocolate kind of guy.
i hate people who always have to order Tres Leches for everything. Like no other type of cake exists! and no its not the best, its OVERRATED.
Not sure I've had it but can someone describe it? From my limited Spanish it sounds like three milk cake so I'm guessing it is some sort of cream cake.

I like Tres Leches, but it's not my favorite cake. That would be Italian Cream, followed closely by Red Velvet. As for the best Tres Leches, it is without a doubt at Americas. Its better than crack.

It's a somewhat eggy-vanilla cake soaked in these three milks : Evaporated Milk, Condensed Milk, Whole Milk. And in many recipes rum is included in the milk mix. Frosting varies depending on personal taste. Most serve it with traditional whipped frosting, or a creamy meringue. Some add toppings like nuts,strawberries or cherries. But, I prefer ice cream cake over "Three milks cake".
