[Tree Care] A drunk driver hit my tree

    Somebody enjoyed the Texans game a bit too much last night and hopped their car at about 2AM into my yard and pine tree. How much bark has to be knocked off a tree to kill it? I read 25%, but I was wondering if anyone has ever had to deal with this kind of tree trauma. Is there anything I can do or anyone I can call to help heal it?

    You're going to want to seal it. Bugs will get into it with out the bark protecting it.

    I would seal it and think you will be fine.
    Same thing happened to one of my trees (although smaller tree) by a contractor and they spilled a bunch of fluids (power sterring I guess) and the tree is doing great ~3yrs later

    I honestly never thought about tree care.

    Good to know along with pseudo rocket experts, we also have tree care experts.
