Whats up with this guy? Is he a complete bust or just doesnt get playing time. He only has around 22 tackles and just 1 sack. Best DB in the country when we drafted him. Just wondering cause when i watch he is really crappy.
You have to remember that defensive linemen in the 3-4 aren't usually judged by stats. Their main job is to tie up blockers in order to free up the linebackers to make plays. Of course, the linebackers aren't making many plays, so the defensive line isn't doing their job. I'm sure Johnson will get some increased playing time in the last few games, I'll try to keep an eye on him.
Assuming you meant DT, not DB... I agreee, when I see Merriman and Derrick Johsnon making plays I get angry... another reason everyone should be fired - including casserly.
It's really hard to see a DT's contribution on the field, just like it's to see how good a tackle is unless you go back and watch the film. He's has about the same amount of tackles as G. Walker has, so he isn't all that bad, or maybe that just says how bad Walker is. But how can we forget how awesome Babin is: 19 tackles, 0 sacks, 2 arms full of crappy tattoos.
travis johnson isn't awful..but he isn't good either. they drafted this guy instead of derrick johnson???? what a joke.
This guy was one of the top DB's at FSU and he doesn't even have any interceptions!?! Definitely a bust.
