I am looking for some inspiration in planning a trip over Presidents Day weekend.

admittedly I have leaned west in most of my travels whether it be for sun, ski or gambling. but am open to anything so long as it makes for a weekend to remember.

would love to hear some opinions from clutchfans.

    sell me.

If you're interested in Vegas...there are a handful of threads that cf.net denizens have created over the years. Most of them have great info.

Yosemite is awesome...but I would do that over a week and tour around Reno/Tahoe and Northern California. San Diego would also be a great weekend trip.

    New Orleans.

Just spent the past weekend there. Amazing time. Amazing city.

Screw Vegas. If I never go back that'll be alright with me. Lake Tahoe has Vegas beat by a mile and a half.

What is the best family place you can go (kids 4 and under) within 6 hours of Houston?

What can do you with kids in New Orleans?

    Padre?

    Sell 'em!

    ;)

    I keed I keed.

Seriously....don't have any kids so I don't know what you could do with them in New Orleans, but I did see lots of people out and about with kids, pushing strollers, etc., so there has got to be something you can do with them there.

Go to Atlanta and soak up the history of the New South / Civil Rights Movement. Plenty of interesting museums, great food, a really soulful city if you give it a chance. Night life is as advertised, if you're into that kind of thing.

I am with you on Tahoe, my only concern is going in late February its going to be too warm to ski and too cold to get on the water.

Went to New Orleans for the Texans game back in August...I need to give my liver a little more time to recover...

I crunched the numbers on Vegas already and I am $2K in the hole before I gamble a dime.

Try San Diego, LA's little brother in Southern Cal. San Diego has a laid back, chill, beach vibe that's great for families and couples to visit. Some places to visit are the parks, gas light district, old town pasadena and plenty of naval ships. Highly recommend!
