Earlier today, I walked across the border from India back to Pakistan on the last day of my 10-week journey across India, Pakistan, and Nepal. Heading back to Houston tomorrow. Just wanted to share some photos (~250+) I've taken during my travels. Here's a link to my photoblog-- enjoy!
Those are definitely some awesome pictures. I recently went to Bombay and Delhi and my experience was completely different than yours. I don't have it in me to do a 10 week journey and I definitely have no intentions of ever stepping foot in Pakistan, but it seems like you had a good time.

Very nice pictures. You did a better job of post processing on some than others and some are out of focus. But in general the series is very good.
nice job they remind me of national geographic pics. How was the bohemian hippy scene in goa? Techno raves everyone going nuts? Was there a big element of the hippy scene or overstated? I see the ones from the marketplace you took, but you can find hippys like that in lots of places. Curious to know how much more of that is going on in goa? personally my favorite spot is the manual ferris wheel in juhu beach: good times
indian???? I KEED. Great shots, especially the one with with the Most Honorable Mahatmas in the back. I like the off-centered focus. Re-composed?
The bohemian hippy scene is still very much alive in parts of Goa, however not in the parts that are heavily populated with tourists (most of which are Russian and Israeli). The local government has cracked down on drug use and loud music/raves, but this all still does occur at the more isolated beaches further down the coast. It's just not as out in the open as it was back in the 1960s.
Breathtaking pictures! I am a resident of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Always wanted to visit Kashmir/Nepal, but never got a chance. After seeing those pics, I think I need to plan a visit soon. Mind = blown.
Thanks, man. I didn't get a chance to visit Chennai, but I was briefly in Top Station, Tamil Nadu on the border with Kerala near Munnar. Was absolutely beautiful. I then took a bus from there to Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu to catch a flight to Rajasthan.
these are incredible. I've always wanted to take my camera there, but I'm paranoid about getting jacked and whatnot. How did you manage to keep your gear safe and not get mugged as you were taking (awesome) pictures of anything and everything?
I think there's a misconception in the US that going to any country poorer than our own is unsafe. Definitely not the case. In fact, the opposite is probably true. Granted, the political situation in Pakistan is far from stable, any safety concerns I've had here have nothing to do with losing my camera equipment or getting mugged. Petty crime isn't really much of a problem in this part of the world, at least from my experience.
Well I'm glad you stayed safe, but that hasn't been the case with my family- I have quite a few relatives who have been robbed at gunpoint over the last few years. In fairness, they live in Karachi, so I'm sure that has something to do with it, being a urban center and all.
Amazing stuff, man! I've been dying to do something similar to get in touch with my roots. I'm going to have to PM you sometime to get some details of the trip. Also, field hockey is the national sport of Pakistan
