I want to go to California in July but can't seem to find anything under 400-500 for round trip.

I saw something yesterday for 260 on Delta with one stop but by the time I was able to get home from work it was gone. I'm trying to find something cheap because there are 4 of us going and I would like to pay for most of it.

What do you guys recommend when purchasing plane tickets? Which airline? When to buy?

Anytime in July? Anywhere in California? How many days (min/max)?

I just found a direct flight from IAH to LAX (7/24-7/31) for $257 on Spirit Air.

Add about $100 for 4 people considering they charge for carry on and checking luggage. Sneaky airline

If you want to save money, the trick is you have to be flexible with your dates. Even better, you can be flexible with your destination. If you are going to LA, there are at least 4 airports within a couple hours. Vegas is only like 2-3 hours and flights can be much cheaper. If you want cheap, you have to be creative. If flexibility isn't an option, you get what you get.
