Airports that you have heard that are awesome, but have never been there either it being the final destination or just connecting flights from through there. For me in no order: Incheon Intl Airport- South Korea Zurich Airport- Switzerland Doha Hamad Airport- Qatar Singapore Changi- Singapore Vancouver Airport- Canada
Was in the Zurich one a few weeks ago. Nothing special. Been to the one in Singapore too, and again, nothing to write home about.
Was in Changi and Incheon a couple weeks ago. Might I ask what's so special about Changi? It looked pretty average to me.
This may sound lame, but connecting through Baltimore was a good decision. Easily the best domestic layover I've ever had. Vegas has to be the worst. This was a few years ago, but we were restricted to one crappy concourse. I try not to connect when I travel overseas, but Dubai International was pretty damn good every time. Emirates lounge definitely made it more pleasant
Dubai is a great airport. Very shiny, efficient and lots of the check out. I flew out of Abu Dhabi on my way to Cyprus last year and it was much smaller than Dubai's. Considering the gamesmanship between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, I think the renovation will make Abu Dhabi spectacular once finished.
which terminal were you in there? i remember the older one not being all that, but otherwise the rest of the airport has been amazing everytime i go i also like the airport at copenhagen, b/c of the cool wooden floors on my bucket list would be the airport on st. barts, which has a spectacular setting for landing https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gustaf_III_Airport#/media/File:Cessna_208B_Grand_Caravan_AN2096268.jpg
So weird. I don't care how awesome they can make an airport be. It's not a place I actually want to be.
Was in Changi Airport last week. It was pretty nice. Had stuff to do to keep me busy while I wait for my flight. They have nice entertainment centers and a nice garden for smokers.
This is true story. I really dislike airports and try to find every possible excuse to get out of having to pick up or take someone there. However when I do have to travel, Changi airport kept me occupied. Most other airports don't even have wifi, and the ones that do make it so difficult to connect with all the signups.
I love to see those airports, but I just can't justify adding an additional 10+ hours to a flight no matter how good an airport is.
