Strangely The Transformers are like the old Rockets vs the current Rockets

Saw this in the theater when I was 6 years old. I cried when Optimus died. My mom was like "I knew I shouldn't have brought you to a PG-13 movie"

One of the most memorable movies of my childhood

Unlike most ppl, I enjoyed Transformers the 2nd generation with Rodamus Prime. Loved the idea of the torch being passed to a new generation. Even thought the idea behind Galvatron was cool

Yeah, but like all other big-budget '80s cartoons it was tapered creatively because writers and producers had to completely redevelop based on toy releases instead of any natural story or character arcs.

Very true, Hasboro had their hands all over the movie. As I'm sure they did with the piece of crap Michael Bay films.

Regardless, as a kid I was still hooked even though the cartoon series itself was dying after this movie came out.

The final nail in the coffin for Transformers had to be TMNT. I want to say that came about in '87, shortly after this movie

Don't forget the dramatic music, "You got the touch" was classic.

Loved that song, especially Dirk Digglers rendition from Boogie Nights

This was my second favorite song and one of my favorite scenes: the first "Kill Scene"

I don't like his movies but Michael Bay puts all the money on the screen AND produces a winning product despite the haters. Les falls short in both areas.

Best Transformer movie by far. The ominous music when Unicron finds Megatron is awesome as well as the rest of the Unicron music.

This dude is the worst director of all time, there's zero transition from scenes.
everything is like a bad Aerosmith video.
