The Cavs are about ready to cut Trajan Langdon. I think he would be able to give the rockets a normal sized SG (not 6'11 Langhi, or 6'2 Hill, or 6'4.5 Mobley). Kid could shoot at duke, and he wasn't a first rounder for nothing. I, of course, expect to get a total 1 reply, probably scolding me about how bad Langdon is at everything else. But at duke, I thought I was seeing the next Reggie miller. Just think it would be good to give him a chance here since he fits the system.

how does he fit the system?
he can't run the floor & he went to DUKE. I believe he was around the season duke beat francis by 30 on multiple occasions.

Worse defensively than Mobley and not nearly as good a scorer. I only see him as a backup and I'd rather have something else than Langdon backing up Mobley. I'd prefer Rhodes over Langdon!

We're not talking about a starter, here. The Rockets only need a fourth guard to play about 5 min. per game during garbage time or to fill in when injuries occur.

SuperS32--Actually, Trajan is NOT a "normal-sized" SG. He's actually about 6-3, which is a little short for SG. But he CAN shoot. If he gets cut, I'd take a look at him for training camp. Otherwise (salary-wise), I'd rather see what Kyle Hill has to offer.

I don't think the rockets need a backup SG that's main skill is shooting. Jag raised a good point about complementary weaknesses. I think the backups should make up for weaknesses in the starting lineup. Mobley's biggest weakness is size and defense...the same as Langdon's despite having differsnt stregths. If the rockets need a three point threat from the two, Rice could slide over and offer comparable defense that Langdon would put up.

Rhodes would bring size and defense........along with a bad attitude. His main use would be if someone like Kobe was just murdering Mobley to the point that the rockets don't care about offense from the 2. Plus Rhodes is probably cheaper.

    Bima,

Sorry..I meant emergency backup for the rockets. Only in blowouts or in case of injury. With all the SFs and Moochie, the rockets could slide someone over that's better than Langdon for backup. Just my opinion though. If Mobley went down, I wouldn't mind seeing Langdon out there for 15-20 minutes.
