Looks amazing. There has been a lot of set backs with this movie, but it looks like it was all for the best. DAMN that looks amazing!!! One of my favorite books growing up. Pairing it with Spike Jonze has got to be cool.
Th erumor was that Jones finished shooting this thing like two years ago but the studio thought it was way wierd. I mean did they expect Chris Columbus when they hired Spike? One of the issues was that the creatures looked like men in furry outfits and Warners wanted more CGI. I'm really glad it's coming out now. Looks more akin to the childrens movies of my youth ie Dark Crystal, Time Bandits, and Never Endong Story. Dark Indie Kiddie flix!!!

It's Spike Jonze, even if it's not the greatest movie you ever see you can guarantee it will be at least quirky enough to keep you from getting bored. Kinda like Michel Gondry in that way. I've never liked Gondry's movies THAT much, liked his music videos much more, but from Eternal Sunshine to Science of Sleep and Be Kind Rewind they were all attention-grabbers, and really what more can you ask from a movie? Most of the great ones get that way by a serendipitous combination of events over which no one had control.
If you check the credits is has Karen O and Carte Burwell doing the score. That's the lead singer of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and the guy who has scored every Cohen Brothers film... ever. This is like a hipsters wet dream summer film.
