New Star Wars movie coming out on August 15th. Star Wars: The Clone Wars Followed by a TV series. (sorry for the link - the trailer doesn't allow embedding)
Simply put, there's no way I won't see this movie. No matter what people say about it. I'm certain me and my sons will be sitting in a theater in August watching this movie.
Seems a bit redundant. Didn't they have that animated mini-series on cartoon network that went over this story as well?
I think the mistake is putting it into theaters. If this was a network TV special, people would be all over it. In this case, people are going to be miffed to pay $10 for second rate computer animation that looks like it belongs on TV rather than the big screen. My only hope is that I'm wrong by the animation and the "style" translates better to a big screen than to an internet feed.
I saw the previews at the cinema the other day . The animation style is a bit too cartoon looking for my taste . I was hoping to see a bit more realistic looking character style . I'm not saying I wont see it , I'll just wait for it to come out on blu-ray . Anything Star Wars , I'm down .
Oh, come on, so many kids will be lining up to see this...and buy the video game..... I am mildly curious, maybe the animated versions actually have a coherent storyline. DD
Exactly. My question is: If the Clone Wars were basically just a rouse set up by Palpatine to gain more power, why are we making a whole movie about them?? They’re really not that important to the whole story. Maybe I’m wrong. What about the 20 years between III and IV? Wouldn’t that make a more interesting movie? It could be called The Rise of the Empire and could just show Darth Vader hunting and killing Jedi all over the galaxy. Maybe a little bit of Luke growing up and Uncle Owen trying to hid the truth from him. And Obi Wan watching him from afar. That would be a MUCH better movie than a video game about the Clone Wars. IMO.
I heard that, but is it true that Lucas isn't going to be involved? Plus, I'd rather see THAT in the theatre. Moreso than some lame 2-hour commercial for a video game.* *which I will still go see....
For some reason, I've never really been into nor I have I understood the mystique of the Star Wars franchise.
The very first time I saw the trailer, I closed my eyes. I could see the REAL actors playing the characters... and then I saw it again, and it was close to what my imagination had. I also saw some of the interviews with the producers and animators on the previews... the "first look" thingie before the movies. The thing is, no matter what we say on this BBS, millions of kids who love these new types of cartoons and adults who love to reminisce about the old Star Wars saga will watch this movie. I know my daughters will be begging me to take them to see it, and I will.
That would have been cool . I don't think its utter crap , I was just expecting more . It would have been cool IMO , if they would have had Dreamworks or Pixar do the movie . I'm not saying I would want it to look like Shrek , or Toy Story , but I'm sure they could have done something cool . Anyways , it is what it is , and its gonna be great .
In that case, I urge every man and child to write to Mr. George Lucas to rename this movie: Spoiler Star Wars Episode 2.5: The Clone Wars!
