It seems the standard these days to blame the gov't for everything. sigh. I feel for the guy, but I'm tired of these kind of suits, which ultimately comes out of the taxpayer's pockets (hasn't been filed yet, but he's started the process for it).

Pretty soon every crime victim will be suing the city for not installing security crimes near the vicinity fo the crime, the cops for not getting there fast enough, the landlord of whatever property they were robbed on, etc.

Did the fire start in the mamadou's apt? It will be interesting to see all the facts come out because as is, im no the fence.

3 minutes response time is pretty dang good...and the claim that "they should have known a dangerous situation" just doesnt sit well with me.

Regardless of the story, it is frustrating to see people file lawsuits over pure accidents. Sometimes you just have to accept **** happens.

and the only fault they could find was that the smoke detectors didn't have working batteries.

When I rented I made sure the smoke detectors had batteries.
