As best I can count, I've had 7 traffic tickets in my driving career. You?

    Muy buen poll, sir.

San Marcos, Sealy, Houston HOV. That's... that's all I have to say about that.

You should have made the results public so we'd know with whom not to ride ride along. ;)

I got 3 tickets, all speeding, and all in the 2 year period that I was driving a twin turbo sports car. In my other car (a Civic) I have never received a ticket, but that doesn't mean I don't speed.

I had one on I-10 near Hwy 6.

A few months later, a cop died at that intersection...

The freeways were just as bad. I've been pretty fortunate. I rarely speed on streets, but tend to go 5-9 MPH over the posted speed limit on freeways. I drove from Houston to the Twin Cities area (around 1150 miles) in 16 hours including stops and saw at least six police cars on the way. Since I was by myself, I was generally able to coordinate gas, bathroom and food.

I have lost count. If I remember correctly, there have been the following:

July 1993: Peek Rd. and I-10. Speeding. Less than a month after I got my license.
June 1994: 290 and Barker Cypress. Speeding. Less than a week before my one year was up and I could take defensive driving again.

Went to July 1998 before my next one. A co-worker of mine at the time received two tickets in less than a week's time. I made fun of her and forgot to knock on wood because guess what? I received a speeding ticket that very night outside of Corsicana. Then I received another one less than a week later for rolling through a stop sign in San Marcos.

Received two in 1999, one in Austin and one in Iowa Park, TX, both speeding. The latter resulted in a letter from a JP in that town scolding me for using a law firm's letterhead when I requested a new appearance date (I was going to be driving through there a month later). Luckily one of the attorneys at the firm called him and said I had his permission to use the letterhead and apologized, even though he was probably just some small town dick who wanted to scare a young kid.

Received one in 2004 in Livingston for speeding and two in Shenandoah for expired tags, which I had dismissed a week later.

For all my speeding tickets, not a one was for more than 13mph over the speed limit. The one in Iowa Park was 77 in a 70. Gimme a break. Luckily, during that time period in 1998-99, Major and I found a loophole where if you received your tickets in different counties, you could take defensive driving and they wouldn't know that you had already taken it. I doubt you could do that now. We were lucky that some of ours were in small towns. We were fixtures at the ComedySports Defensive Driving at Northcross Mall in Austin. :D

Wow, guess I do actually remember all of that. :)

Now when I never go more than 4mph over. It's not going to get me where I'm going that much later and I don't have to worry about slowing down when I see a cop, unless of course I am mandated to by law. :)

Every time I go to the police station for something - such as a record check for a new job - I'm scared that it will come up. So far, so good.

    I can't remember, I think about 12 to 15. However, I have been driving for 32 years.

They were all speeding tickets. I have only had one ticket in the past ten years or so. I try to keep my speed within about five mph of the limit.

Most of my tickets came in small town type areas where the speed limit fluctuates between like 35 and 45. So, I wasn't really going all that fast, I just wasn't paying attention to all the speed limit changes. If you drive to Texarkana using 59, you know that the speed limit changes every few miles.

I never get upset when I get a ticket, after all it is my own fault. And for some reason it always makes me feel good to see someone else get a ticket. I quess I'm happy that it's not me getting the ticket.

When some guy drives past me doing like 95 mph and then a cop comes out of nowhere and pulls him over, I love that.

Hell, I got 3 speeding tickets within the first 5 weeks of having a drivers license, when I was 16. My Dad had to go with me to court so I could keep my license.

    Yeah, I was a bad teenager.... :D
