    So, who watches this show?

I admit, if I catch it on, I'll watch it. New Year's Day 2002, I watched it for about 8 hours I think.

No friggin' way I'd ever go on it, though.

That show kills me. Mrs JB and I watch it all the time.

If you want to see some of the most incredibly hilarious commentary about it, particularly as an adjunct to the show while it is on, go visit http://www.televisionwithoutpity.com/ . Their bulletin boards are hilarious loaded with really funny references to all the designers and homeowners.

Honestly, that site makes the show even more enjoyable to watch though the show itself is usually pretty damn hilarious if for no other reason than to hear the people and designers on there whine and complain about everything.

We watch it periodically, along with the original British version, Changing Rooms (seems like they have a budget of $50 bucks...some are really bad).

My wife and I have a good lil deal going: See watches or attends all Rocket games with me and in return, I sit through Trading Space, While You Wre Out and Iron Chef.

My favorite episode of TP is where Doug ruined that one lady's living room and made her cry so much that she had to walk off. Then you could hear her sobbing uncontrollably off camera. :)

Ok you got me. I actually semi-enjoy Trading Spaces, and especially Iron Chef.

And yes, the wife does like basketball and she has three cats named Sam, Moochie and Cat to prove it.

    Who else watches Iron Chef?

Codell.....you don't like Iron Chef? Great show. Esp since its on Fridays at midnight, right about when I get home from Friday happy hour...with a big greasy Whataburger.

Trading Spaces is like a car wreck. You dont want to watch it but somehow once its there you find yourself stuck.

Actually I like Iron Chef better than I like Trading Spaces.

Iron Chef really grows on ya. I like the whole "battle" theme to the show,l the elaborate costumes and the Japanese Liberace guy. The music is so intense and the owner's sound like they are doing PBP for a championship game.

    Jeff,

Thanks for the link. That's hilarious.

Wife loves the Rockets, and I like Trading Spaces/Changing Rooms. Pretty cool.

Although she doesn't care for Iron Chef much. Why are the voice overs so...intoxicating? They're so damn goofy it's hard to pull away.

'AhhhhHHHaaaaAAHHH....he's using the torch on the fish shins....I've never seen that before...no..no...no....he's very creative..aahhhh...'

Trading Spaces and While You Were Out are vile shows.

They're horrible. Every person on there is so freakin' annoying and stuck up. I hate the hosts.

    Eeeeccccchhhhhh!!!

One thing I love about those shows are when the people despise the makeover and start to cry. That's what you get when you're on a show like that.

Pretty much all of TLC and definitely all of HGTV is now known as TYN -- The Yuppie Network.

I love the voiceovers for the designated ditzy female judge:

"This soup.....its so......hmmmmmmm....so good, so.....it tickles my mouth with cucumber excitement....teee heee heee"

And the old guy who is so full of ridiculous metaphors, and always has a recommendation...

"While this mushroom and polenta squidhead soup is a masterpiece of liquid edible pleasure, bringing out the noble and mighty flavor of squidhead while subduing the serflike texture of the mushrooms... I personally would have added more salt."

I wish this show had been on when I was in college, it would have been like MST.

Iron Chef is cool, codell, though it is interesting to see some of the main ingredients chosen.

Emeril is still number 1 on my list, and before it turned back into the British version, I liked ready set cook.
