Rockets need firepower and rebounding prowess Raptors need low post presence and can't afford Carter's injuries Cavs don't want to lose Boozer for nothing and need more offense Rockets,Raptors,Cavs Trade Rockets trade Mobley Cato Taylor Raptors trade Marshall Carter Cavs trade Boozer Battie Rockets get Carter Boozer We can risk Carter's injuries and used save money for Alston and pick up Dice for vet min Raptors get Battie Mobley Cato inside presense and non- injury concern scorer for half price Cavs get Taylor Marshall Scoring in bunches and punches Francis Alston Carter Pike Jackson Nachbar Boozer Dice Ming Padgett
We need more than one big man, and padgget backing up yao probably wont do it. Also Carter and Pike are like 150 years combined, we need someone to back Carter up because Pike is too old so is a liability backing up a liability in Carter, but after that the trade is kind of good.
Boozer would be great but not reallistic. I wouldn't mind having marshall thought. To me he seems like the most practical guy to go for. With the firing of their head coach and GM the raptors are probably in a rebuilding mode with the rest of the eastern conference. I might actually prefer marshall over boozer. Before you guys ask me what im smoking, take a look it marshalls stats for this season. 03-04 TOR 66 66 39.1 .467 .403 .741 2.80 8.00 10.70 1.4 1.21 1.58 1.44 3.00 16.2 He gives us a rebounding 4 with decent shot blocking skills. Most importantly he also gives us a 4 with very good 3 point range and offensive capabilities. I wouldnt mind seeing Marshall being paired with Yao in the front court. Think of marshall being a cheap alternative good citizen sheed. With marshall you would get a vetern 4, although a little undersized, with offensive abilities to space the floor with yao and that can play defense and rebound along side. Boozer is a stud and upcoming star, but he does all his work download in the paint. Having yao and boozer clog up the paint would add another serious handicap to SF.
Those are his stats for just toronto and not while he was in Chicago. download = down low. Im not sure if this trade would work straightup but Cato for Marshall would make sense in someways. The raptors are looking for a legit center so they can move Chris Bosh to his natural position at the 4. But the raps could be concerned with his contract which would go against rebuilding principles. I could see cato being a legit center if the east or he could regress into the old cato, but that wouldnt be our problem.
The Rockets trade away their cap busters and then get the two best players in this deal? Now, why would Cleveland and Toronto do this? Honestly, people, come on now.
Maybe if we say pretty please with a cherry on top? Short term, I'd love this - but I think we'd have trouble keeping all of these players long term. Boozer is going to want big money soon, so that would give us 4 players who want/deserve max-type dollars. Unfortunately, Cuban hasn't bought us out yet, so that's not going to happen.
