A lot of talk about trading for a key player using one or both of our pick. What are our picks worth? Here is a list of our players. Brown Cato Collier Frances Griffin Langhi Mobley Morris Norris Rice Taylor Thomas Torres Williams Willis Sort them. On the top of your list put the player you would least like to trade, then the next, the next all the way down to who you would like to trade. You can order on any basis. Best player, good contract, hard to replace, team unity and looks good in pajamas are but a few. Here is my list (though I reserve the right to change my mind) Francis Griffin Mobley Thomas Cato Morris Norris Taylor Williams Willis Collier Torres Rice Brown Langhi Now decide who, and above you would not give up in a one for one trade for the number 4 (or 14) draft pick. For example, I would rather keep collier than trade him straight up for the number 14 pick. I would however give up Torres, Rice, Brown or Langhi for that pick. So when I read "KT and the 15 pick" for ... I substitute "KT and Torres" and see if it still sounds reasonable. Usually not. The pick sounds mysterious and hopeful. But when you break it down to a real player, sometimes things look different. By the way I said 4 and 14 because those are actually better than what we have to offer. If you would not make that trade, you definately wiould not pull the trigger on 5 or 15. Personally, I would not give up Francis, Griffin, or Mobley for the number 4 pick straight up. (Actually, I would consider Mobley, but there has to be more - some assurance or something.) For different reasons I am on the fence about Thomas, Cato and Morris. So instead of "Rice or Thomas and the number five" I substitute "Rice or Thomas and KT". Now that surley does not sound so enticing. Think about it from the other GM's point of view, not just ours. It makes for a more realistic post. Thanks
