Seriously, I've been wanting this for the past year and we could've gotten Iverson since he was available. Now I'm really not sure what we can get for him.

Anybody here thinks that TMac will ever play like he used to is delusional. Even if his knee is fully recovered (which I think it is, that's why the team and the doctors let him play) he can never regain his confidence back.

He will always think twice about driving to the basket cause it's all in his head.

We don't need to trade him we just need to sit him. He has a 21 million dollar contract that is coming off the books soon Tmac will have alot of value even if his play is stinks.

What he need to do is play Von Wafer and Brent Berry More minutes at the 2 and Start Aaron Brooks and have Rafer play the backup role.

Tracey should only start after he proves him self in practice and on the floor coming off the bench. Then he should start again, And if he cant do those things then does not deserve to be a starter any more.

I think the window on the Tmac/Yao era has basically closed and we need to move on. Luckily we have a good team without Tracy. I doubt we will trade him, but I would like to. At least get someone who can score consistently and penetrate on a consistant basis. Even if they are not as good of a player.

We have to weigh Trading Tracy against the value of his contract in regards to next year. Is it going to be worth it to trade him, if it takes us till next year to regain our potential?

I think about trading him a lot, ,and what is feasible.

    I would like

McGrady for Rip & Sheed (Rumored before)

    or

McGrady for Ben Gordon and Kirk Heinrich

This would give us 3 pgs, but Heinrich can play and GUARD at the
2 effectively. Put Ron Ron in the starting lineup at SG, and bring those 2 off the bench.

I don't think were gonna trade him though.

To get Rip and Wallace Detroit may want Houston to throw in Scola. I would do that if that's what it takes. Wallace and Landry would be a great power forward combination. Rip would be a good shooter and would mesh with Artest pretty good and we have Yao in the middle that would be great! Only i that happened... Detriot would have Scola, Prince, McGrady, Iverson though...

Tracy will b**** if he has to come off the bench.
I posted the following on another forum last month,

NBA 2010 Free Agency.....Who Can We Get?

The 2010 free agency market is going to have a ton of great players up for grabs. I think the Rockets will be a viable option for a lot of players who would want to play with a big man like Yao. Don't get me wrong, I think Yao is a great center, but has yet to understand the definition of going up strong. Nevertheless he is one of the best centers, if not the best stats wise, in the NBA. I know he's up in '10, but I doubt he's going anywhere and I'm sure he's going to want some McGrady type money. Which brings me to the reason why I started this thread, who can we get in place of McGrady? I use to be a huge McGrady fan and still am....well somewhat, but lets face it, he's just not there anymore. It's as though he has no energy on the court. He's pretty much lost that killer instinct that we all loved when he was in Orlando and when Van Gundy started giving him more plays instead of Yao when he first got here. I don't want to hear the BS about how he's become an all around player now compared to when he played in Orlando....bottom line is that he's not producing wins and he's not giving the effort I feel he can give. Look at Kobe, Carmello, hell look at Dwayne...he's been tearing it up. What happened to McGrady? Everyone's going to have there own opinion, but I really think it's time we push him out in '10 if not sooner. Like I said there are a ton of players that would want to play with a big man that would be more viable and be able to bring the type of contribution we need to make this a championship organization like the Spurs with Duncan, Parker and Ginobili. I would love to have Ginobili on our team. Not in place of McGrady, but as a contributor. He's up in '10!

Those who have been observing the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, New Jersey Nets and New York Knicks, among others, maneuver to create salary-cap space already have heard about "the Summer of LeBron." That's 2010, the year that LeBron James can opt out of his contract with the Cavs.

But the offseason of 2010 is not just the Summer of LeBron: It's also the Summer of Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Amare Stoudemire, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Tyson Chandler, Manu Ginobili, Richard Jefferson, Joe Johnson, Tracy McGrady, Yao Ming, Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitzki and Michael Redd, each of whom can become an unrestricted free agent in 2010.

And in 2009, the list is illustrious, too: Kobe Bryant, Carlos Boozer, Allen Iverson, Ron Artest, Jason Kidd, Shawn Marion, Andre Miller, Lamar Odom and Rasheed Wallace can become unrestricted free agents next year.

And that's not to mention all the restricted free agents, as you can see below.

Of course, not all of these players will reach free agency. But some will, which is why we're already hearing buzz about the summers of 2009 and 2010.

Take a look and see whom your team could lose … or which players it might ink in '09 and '10.

It's as though he's sabotaging his career in order to stay here and continue to reap profits from his overseas sales due to being tagged up with Yao.

    Stop posting, please.

We've heard this nonsense after every recent loss.

We don't need Tmac to play exactly like he did during his Orlando days. Tmac has already tried to adapt his game to his age. The problem is that he is still healing.

Once the soreness goes away or decreases, Tmac will still be able to be a facilitator and draw double teams to create for Yao, Ron and the rest of the team.

not even going to read it but im going to post some thing hehe^^
his value is way down, no smart team ,would want him right now,not at his status, and we wouldn't even get a fair deal. Also, the real tmac will show up after the all star break or trading deadline.

I've been thinking about the same thing for the past few weeks,I don't know how I could adopt the new image that Tracy had created since his back spasm flared up in 06'.Actually I'm not the old timer but indeed really desire to see his energy and quickness, high explosiveness, which was long gone I know. And he's doing pretty well despite all that. ;) I'm gunna root for him anyway he played bad or good.He still can contribute to our team.

LOL,I still couldn't figure out why all the teams in the NBA wanna pull a strategy like that. He's not that dominant at all.Admittely,he's still capable of taking over the game come the heathly time.

i'd rather keep him this season than having another player

He will be great late this season. He will make himself to that point especially at the playoffs. We got to be patient

But coach's perception will not change time to time. I rather take the coach to the trading list :p :p :p

What concerns me is his weight. Why is he so heavy? I know it's not because he's been lifting because he face looks chubby and his stomach bloated out. That very problem right there indicates to me that not only is there a health issue, but he's guilty of not giving 100%. People can speculate all they want about the knee, but when I see a guy come into possibly the biggest season of his career in terms of winning overweight, I have major concerns.

Maybe he's taking medications that cause him to put on weight. That's very doubtful, and knowing Tracy he would have been quick to blame his weight gain on that a long time ago. It's not too late to get with the program but good golly time's running out.

I just don't think the Rockets have the stomach to trade him yet. I think they want to see what T Ming can accomplish, in the playoffs, with a deep roster. If the Rockets fizzle out (again), I think he's a goner.
